Quote Crackerjack="Crackerjack"Dont you lot ever learn??
Dont argue with the lady
If Jools has him pencilled in for full back - with Andersons support --then thats where he`ll play!!
My genuine doubts spring from the fact that quote " we dont want another change at full back although thats what it is as Tansey was playing there albeit on a temp basis
And whilst I love the idea of a Brett Hodson coming into the line asextra support I have an inbuilt belief that a full back should be able to form a reliable last line of DEFENCE
Damn it -thats what Grix has taken somuch flack for
It might be great that he can organise the defensive line in front of him, but if they break through that and as some have said the last tackle is missing --whats it worth??
Still claim play him (Brier4ley)where hes best instead of trying to "convert"him and if we do need a full back -then look for one It might not be easy but cant see point of trying to get the lad at his age to "adapt"
In our present position its too big a gamble and as I said remember poor Chris Thorman( unless someone CAN convince me that worked out absolutely right!
What next ??
Aaah -when Broughy finally goes - perhaps we can buy a full back --and convert him to an half back eh??
Extract it if you want --but in my view - just as farcical!-- and we could tempt fate twice eh??
Bets on an each way double??
However - if the opening idea IS correct --Ill have my digits tightluy crossed (although we COULD end up with two halbacks --or two full backs !! We could always sell one after converting em

Well everybody has their ideas about where players should be, and we are all coaches when on the Keyboard. I agree with most of what you say about Brierley, I could live with him at fullback myself in the hope he may be able to emulate Hodgson to some extent, What I will be interested in is what's going to happen when Grix gets back ( about 5 weeks now apparently ) and where do we get a halfback from if Brierley stays fullback. All we will have done is cure a problem that's needed curing for a long time, we will still be in the same poor position regarding halves, If Brough should go ( god forbid ) then we are completely screwed
Grix it seems is the reason we have been poor, his organization is what the problem is all about, The forwards can play with so much more confidence knowing Grix can tell them where to be in defence.
Despite all this Mr Anderson is grooming Brierley to take Grix's place, Apparently on the strength of the opinions of a few Leigh fans who think his best position would be fullback , ( although he didn't play there for them ) and the opinions of our expert coaching staff who have done their part, no doubt, in coaching us to the bottom of the league.
That is harsh I know but it is the reality of the situation, For whatever the reasons, we are making a complete B********s of things, There is a lot more to it than just where to play Brierley, but if he is going to be fullback then leave him there and give him a chance whatever happens with Grix, We just need to realize that as good as he is at following the half breaks, it is all wasted if there are no offloads, and it doesn't cure the halfback situation.
