| Great performance, really really pleased the way we went about our business, there are areas we need to improve on, but not many.
It's still early days and 2 points in the bag, we have to do the same things we did next week against a Broncos team that was starting to play like a competing team the back end of last season.
PS I'm still not sure I've woken up from my wonderful dream, with this song in my head, I know it a Max Boyce tune but quite like it !!??!!
[i=#800040And we were singing, hymns and arias, 'Huddersfield Cracker', ' Claret and Gold’
We paid our weekly shilling, for that start of season trip, a long weekend in St Helens, without a bit of kip, there's a seat reserved for beer by the boys from Fartown, there's beer, pontoon, crisps and fags and a 'Tansey' jigging it down
Cause we were singing, hymns and arias, 'Huddersfield Cracker', ' Claret and Gold’
We got to the park early and were jostled in the crowd, made jokes with Saints, looked for toilets all around, so many there we couldn't budge -twisted legs and pale, I'm ashamed we used a bottle that once held bitter ale
And we were singing, hymns and arias, ‘Huddersfield Cracker', ' Claret and Gold’
Giants defeated Saints, AYE! in a fast and powerful game, we sang 'Wise men' and ‘whats the score Browny’ and they sounded both the same, we sympathised with a Scoucer, whose team was doomed to fail, so we gave him that old bottle, that once held bitter ale!
He started singing, hymns and arias, 'Huddersfield Cracker', ' Claret and Gold’
And we were singing, hymns and arias, 'Huddersfield Cracker'', ' Claret and Gold’[/i

| I'd disagree, there are a LOT of areas we can an improve on - and thats absolutely key
Last season in our first few weeks we were pretty immaculate at this time, and so had no room to improve
Now we are good but can get better.
Much more satisfying position imo.

| Watching the replay again, and its utterly cringeworthy to me as an RL fan - and offensive to me as a giants fan to listen to the Sky commentary.
They were nearly as biased as the Saints home crowd in the first 20 mins.

I don't agree with that, maybe its my perception? Laffranchi, Perry and LMS do not seem to me to be big for props, my perception was they are all similar size to Larne, our smallest prop. Puletua is bigger but similar in size to Feilden, they did not have anyone of the size and bulk of Eorl & Kopczak. I thought we had a size advantage in the back row too.
Wire, Leeds, HKR and Catalans will all certainly have bigger packs than Saints, probably Wigan, London and Bradford's run on pack will also be bigger.
Lots of good players in the Saints pack when they click but they don't seem huge to me.

| Think Nathan must be going down the mobility route again,as all the Saints players looked very lean, with the exception of one prop forward.Manu for example looked a lot slimmer, though it was his bulk that caused us problems when he was at Hull.

| I agree a few areas we need to improve- saints allowed to offload far too often -and I'm afraid to say jerry looked lacking defensively again a number of times, thankfully the others covered well.

| one of the best performances i've seen in recent years, certainly up there with the semi final wins.
we were sublime from start to finish and saints had no answer to us,that was as big a stuffing we could ever have imagined giving st helens at home!
but... lets not get carried away and expect that level of performance every week now.

| Seriously we were not sublime from start to finish.
we made a lot of errors, there were moments of confusion and lack of co-ordination at times that we were allowed to get away with
More than once Brough and Robbo had to scramble on the last play
A lot of time they were able to look dangerous on the roll but let themselves down with poor offloading
If we had been sublime we would have put 60 on them and nilled them to boot.
We were good, no doubt, but Saints were poor
That there is room for improvement is nothing but a benefit to us.

| May I say a belated congratulations to Huddersfield for them putting the X-factor back into RL.
Too many things are predictable and I for one expected them to get a drubbing at Saints.
But no ........
I would love a club like Huddersfield to win the title of Champions this season.
It would be a breath of fresh air.
Keep it going.
