I wonder if they remember seeing Eden play?
Webster isn't fit to lace Cudjoes boots
Hardacre might be amazing, more likely a liability
I'd take Lynch from Cas and that's it'"
Hardaker apposed to our full back who is who...simpson/murphy? Love murphy been great servent solid no errors but Fb needs to offer more.

| Quote: Code13 "There was a huge issue with our spine last season
Missing Grix for months, lost Robbo, Ellis unfit, Wood injured and brough trying too hard
Next season I expect this to be very different
Mamo at 1, an exciting player made for SL
Brierley at 6, a young player with international experience and potential to go a long way
Brough at 7, the old master
Leeming at 9 - looked our best 9 and just getting better, will be excellent to see him play bigger minutes'"
Brierley has been in Examiner saying he's getting 'bulked' which was vital,as for all the good things he may do on attack being a defensive liability just negates that.
Hope Rickster can get the best out of Broughy in terms of attacking structure,we know there is no better half in SL as an edge defender.Broughy shows no sign of slowing down right now, still plenty to offer
Mamo, well from what I saw at Newcastle he is fit, strong & quick but being shoved out on the edge down there never knew if he had good hands, and good hands for a FB is vital in the modern game, well that is what the top ex players on commentary say,so no need just to take my word for it.Longer he is out of any pre season harder it will be for him to get totally up to speed on the combinations.
Leeming, not convinced yet,got time on his side, not a total athlete at 9 like say Roby,so will he prove to have a footballing brain in the long run - hope so.
The final part of the spine 13, Hinchy in there will be a huge positive,if Stone has any sense he will use him as an extra pivot like Wigan do with O'Loughlin.

| do we think hinchcliffe would be better playing 80mins at loose forward his favoured position??
its a shame its looking like he will have to split the roles with playing hooker again next season

That is what we need to avoid, let Hinchy do the 80 minutes at loose if he can,but as I said Leeming is a development project at 9,but then we got rid of someone like Kyle Wood who could come in and do the acting half scoots if Leeming was struggling in the playmaker role at 9.

| agree Hinchy has to be at 13, let him do what he does best just graft. make his tackles and carry. He's not a creative 9 having said that neither is leeming do we have another coming?
We were spoilt wiht Lunt,Robinson and Faiumu a few years ago!!

| yeh the hooker role is a worry for next season i feel
as is the full back role if mamo deal not done.
centre spot also up for grabs if wardle goes other way as expected, murphy, sam wood, gaskell, mackintosh all could claim that , id go murphy with ormsby on the wing

Not to mention the props.
Got to hope for the best from Nathan Mason, some of the other youngsters signed up in the past with big hope and expectancy seem to be struggling to cut it at first grade.
You need one home grown prop coupled with a top overseas prop to win SL,check out 'Peacock and Leuluai' at Leeds,in their peak controlled the upper body of the first up drive, then the other defenders piled in to slow the ptb leading to winning rugby league.
I like Rapira but he's a grafter not a dominant.
Despite this, under Stone's coaching very confident we will be challenging for play offs not worrying about middle eights.

It looks a loved up proposition, but from past experience we get the best out of Australian coaches in the first 2.5 years before they start going mental,as in 'orr yer look mate not enough sunshine mate' Tough call for Sir Ken as ever to sack the Australian when the whinging starts about the weather - as we know it inevitably will.

I play Mason over Clough any day of the week.
Id go with Rapira + Smith with Ikahihifo and Mason off the bench.

He definitely has filled out but is quite short in height but hopefully that won't be an issue.

6ft 1 according to the Giants site - that's taller than Clough, ikahihifo, taai and rapira.
