| The angle from in front distorts where the ball is going, the camera shot from behind which is far more central clearly shows the ball going BETWEEN (not over) the posts.
As I mentioned on the VT, Smiths decision in the first half to call a knock on when the ball clearly went backwards (likely from Saints boot) was equally as digusting, that was a clear try for you guys.
Robbed isn't a word for it tbh.

| You were robbed today no doubt in my mind. The refs in our game are a disgrace with their personal bias coming into play and incompetent decisions week in week out.
My team were hammered today by Leeds and although massively disappointed I came away knowing they won fair and square.
Our last home game v saints left our fans with a similar bad taste after Ganson entered the refs room at half time leading to a second half of shocking refereeing and ultimately we lost the game.
We have the most bent, corrupt, embarrassing group of inept individuals leading our sport. Without change our sport will never grow in numbers as many fans will eventually walk away from the sport we all love. What a joke the refs and Redhall have become

| We had Thaler (& his touchie stood right on line) this Thursday against Salford completely ignore two very obvious forward passes, one resulting in a try, nothing marginal in them.
You expect somewhat of a little leeway in a fast moving sport but jesus it makes a complete mockery of things.

| Goal. Look at the replay on BBC. From the camera behind the posts there is clearly nothing wrong with Brough's drop goal. The other angle appeared inconclusive. Why didn't Bentham go to the screen? He was quick to ask for all but one of our claims, and was also given advice by the video referee that - correctly - overturned a drop out in the first half.
However, this shouldn't have been an issue... had Bentham done his job.
On the previous drop goal attempt, it was charged down by Walmsley who was stood in an offside position between the posts at the play the ball yet Bentham hadn't the backbone to penalize him.
Ferres' rush of blood turned the game, but ultimately it was the referee who cost us it. He failed to penalize Walmsley then declined to go to the video referee for the drop goal, instead kicking his habit of questioning our tries by incorrectly disallowing it.

| On the one hand the Ferres sending off was correct decision, IMO;it was a dangerous throw, it just needs a few more officials to have a bit of gumption with this type of offense. But it was not the reason the Giants lost the match. Bentham has got a history of poor decision making and brainfarts, and should have gone to the screen for the drop goal. The more accurate angle was from behind the goal and if referred to the video ref,he would have had more reasons to give it the nod than not.Even Nathan Brown and Alex Murphy (Mr I love St Helens) thought "Lady Luck" smiled on them. Therefore I conclude Bentham cost the Giants the game.

| Looked wide to me from where I was sat, and it's still a 50/50 call with all the camera angles. You fluffed it today. Disgusting tackle by Ferres, then several crap drop attempts by Brough.
Fantastic, never say die attitude from Saints. Best of luck to Hudds for rest of the season.

| The first try clearly shows a saints crossing move which created the gap for Hohaia, surprisingly none of the BBC pundits spotted it but it was clear as daylight. The 2nd try the player didnt stand on his feet to play the ball, and this same player did it repeatedly throughout the match. I'm normally a fan of Bentham but today he was shocking and clueless. The amount of crossing during this match from the saints was alarming, yet when you guys did it once he had it reviewed.

| not only are the refs poor at the jobs but on the challenge cup draw they cant tell the difference between 6 & 9 - Salford should be playing Bradford and Widnes should be playing Catalans

| Murphy (just like his ball picking partner Schofield) feels the game he once played owes him a living from now to eternity - journalist just go to them when short of something to write. very bitter man
As for the DG - hard to say , after watching a dozen replays I'm still unsure . Behind goals Yes - behind Brough - No.
Benthams view was nearer to the behind Brough view and had to make a call. If he had gone to video ref we might all still be sat there waiting because I can't decide.
Perhaps the posts should be taller

| Quote: Mad_Jack_Mcmad "That was the game changer. Bentham let a lot go for 60 minutes then penalized us for everything he had been ignoring previously.
The Ferres red card should never have happened because we should've had the ball on the half way line with a penalty for Walsh pushing Jerry rather than the frankly pathetic penalty for Jerry holding down.'"
That for me was the momentum changer, Jerry didn't do anything, even watching it back on the BBC Jonathan Davies says what was that for? Waish gets up and pushes Jerry, Bentham walks around clueless and says Oh I'll give Saints a penalty??eh??
Walsh milked it and Bentham was happy to buy it, the drop goal was a goal, even Walsh thought it was, Brough certainly did and the camera directly behind the posts confirmed it. Brough watched the replay when interviewed and said what's wrong with that over the posts. Unfortunately Mr Bentham says no, end of I'm afraid, I'm sure he'll sleep tight tonight clutching his match fee.
Good luck to the Saints hardly their fault, they certainly got lady luck today, we have a very long season ahead of us.

| Clear enough DG. Brough has a right to be angry. Bentham used the video ref many times, including one to check if the saints defender was tackled in the air, it's a NO brainer, use the video ref.

| From one angle it looked over, the other it didn't. Obviously huddersfield fans only take into account the former.
Huddersfield fans forget that brough had 3 previous attempts at a drop goal, and due to his own incompetence were charged down because he didn't get into a good enough position. Standing barely 2 metres back? What is this, amateur hour?
Huddersfield fans forget the disgraceful tackle from ferres which had the potential to not only end lomax's career, but render him disabled. Look at Mckinnon 2 weeks ago. Abhorrent from ferres.
Basically, huddersfield were on the rough end of a 50/50 call, but in the end, only have themselves to blame for losing the game.
Victim mentality. Poor old badly done to huddersfield.
