| I wish him all the best at Long Prong Park, but I'm sure he's only been tempted by a big pay packet.
The upset he caused over the last couple of season's 'Will he ? Won't he?' palaver is behind us now and the squad has come out of it all the stronger for the experience.
Baloo, can and will, continue the improvement we have seen.
Yes it's great being a Giants Fan.....never a dull moment.

| I'm guessing, he wanted to go home, nothing has come up, if Anderson wasnt ready we would have probably given him another contract. Anderson has bided his time and has been rewarded with first team coach for newxt year.
Brown getting midway through the season hasnt sorted a job for next year, gets the chance to go to a team that has made a final for the last however many years, or does he wait and put his families livlihood on the line incase he manages to find a job in the NRL?
I'm not annoyed, if we hadnt signed Anderson then Brown might have got another contract. I'm a bit miffed that Brown is going to be a rival next year after the last few seasons with us, but he has given me so many good memories over the last few years that many of us could only dream about, and if baloo can continue that progression then we will have no room for complaint.

| How about we appreciate what the guy has done for us in our time here ?
We knew he was leaving anyway so how is it disrupting us ?
Things happen in life , situations change...it obviously has done here and Mr Brown has decided to take another job.....AFTER he's seen out his contract with us !.
Personally i've no bitterness or malice towards him for taking this job, thats his choice he has a young family to provide for and i'm sure it cant be easy for the Brown family to keep having to make these decisions based around his job(s).
Maybe he wanted to leave us and take up a new challenge elsewhere, maybe he fancied a fresh start somewhere, how many of you lot have changed jobs over the years ?.
Why not just be grateful that we've had this guy as coach - the best i can ever remember for us by a long, long way -look what kind of state he's leaving the club in, look at the players we've got because of his legacy here !.
Its not like his leaving has come out of the blue - we've known all year ...obviously he probably didnt expect the Saints job to become available so soon into the year but it did and they wanted him and he obviously wanted the challenge of coaching a successful club....i will offer nothing but thanks , gratitude and good luck to this man who has made me proud to be a Huddersfield fan. !!

| Quote: jools "Everyone is presuming that the appointment of Anderson was down to Brown saying he was off. Remember at the time how we all thought it was a great idea- no more will he won't he- his contract was up at the end of the year perhaps it was the boards idea to appoint Anderson'"
I'm not privy to inside info but surly the board made the decision because brown could not commitment his long term future -if brown would of said to Ken, "hey I have decided that I would like to give this job another 3 years are you interested" - I'm sure Ken would have given his left bollock but now he can commit to a 3 year deal with saints!!!
Quote: jools "I'm not angry at brown- he's got a family to provide for and has been offered a job- any one of you naysayers would do any different in his position?
'"
Of course not because his intention was to go back to manage in the NRL but he has signed a 3 year deal to stay in uk. why not sign a 3 year deal to stay with GIANTS!!!
Quote: jools " I'd be willing to bet he has a clause to allow him to move back to aus '" I really do hope so!! because when saints are sitting comfortably at the top of the table managed by Brown it will all go tits up come mid season next year with the same speculation - will he, wont he? - giants go through this every bloody year.
'" ]
Quote: jools " and who can blame saints for All this negative rubbish yet again- and all from "supporters" '"
I think the Giants fans have every right to be negative - he was off at end of season because he could not commit to he's long term future but of a sudden he can now commit to a 3 year deal with one of our biggest rivals.
Quote: jools "
personally I'd rather baloo got his shot he's learnt plenty-
'"
I would still rather have brown for another 3 years - but like I said that is not disrespect to Baloo - Brown is tried and tested manager from the NRL and SL - where Baloo has none! but it looks like he will get his shot next season.
Quote: jools "
and as of next year saints can deal with all this s***.'"
amen

I suppose we don't know if it will but if we lose a couple of up coming games and get knocked out of the CC that's when people will start to say it's down to brown - you know it, I know it, Eddie & stevo know it.
Quote: GIANT DAZ "Why not just be grateful that we've had this guy as coach'"
I am very grateful - I will never forget the CC memories and that game at wire when Leroy scored that amazing try but surly I have the right to feel a little let down by a man who now commits to not a 1 year or 2 but a 3 year deal - Miffed that's all Daz.
That's me done on the subject - it's done and dusted nothing we can do but get behind the team.
100% committed to the team!

| I wish Browny all the best for the future, plyers have had chances in the past to jump ship to more "atractive" teams but have chose to stay, ALL our big guns are tied into long term contracts that would need to be bought out so any departures are done so with the bussiness blessing of Mr Thewlis!
that said i was told at the Uni that NB wanted KB to join him!

Where is the joke? NB picked KB as his captain and rates him highly. Who will pick the team at saints? Nathan, Eamon or paul Wellens? If it is not NB he will soon return to Oz.

Is there anyone on this site that has not moved jobs for better wages ? despite all of us being passionate about our teams we do have to remember that it is still just a job and we would all take the best offer available in our own circumstances.

| cannot see how this will cause us any disruption at all from what i hear the players knew at least 6 weeks since that nb was going to be saints coach next year and it hasnt disrupted much since then as it, for me sorry to see him go but im with daz he has done a great job with us and wish him the best of luck , 4 years is probably long enough to be coach at one club to me.

| Makes no odds to us him going. Our coach is sorted and I'm glad for that appointment
Personally if Brown doesn't win a cup with us this season he is never going to do it with us so again, Bon voyage and thanks for the memories.

| I agree that NB by the end of the Season will have taken Hudds as far as he can and a new man may just be a breath of fresh air. Plus the leaving/staying has definately been a distraction.
Can't wait to see the effect of his incessant desire to place players into different positions than they currently play.
How about
Roby to loose Forward
Wellens to Second Row
Meli to Prop
Lomax to Hooker
You saw it first here.

| Think I'm with jools and dg on this one.
He has done a great job at giants and was an inspired appointment. We thank him for his efforts and the memories and enjoyment he gave us. ( favourite moment was him encouraging/shouting on Leroy at Warrington as he sprinted down sideline 2 years ago)
The unsettling mid season turmoil is now with saints and I will be at the bookies betting he is back in nrl well before his saints contracts ends - and possibly even before it begins tbh. He wants an nrl job - and he deserves one - and you cannot criticise someone for being ambitious.
As for players , the most unsettled players at the moment will be the current saints ones who are going to get a new gaffer in. I think the young English giants players will be around the galpharm for a few years yet. Remember nathan is not a quick fix coach - more of an evolution than revolution one. The systems etc take time to embed, so think Nathan will assess his st Helens youth well before he is approaching giants players....
... which nicely leads on to andersons appointment. He is very popular and respected with the players , and I for one think it is great that we are giving an English coach who has served an apprenticeship a chance. Another great medium term giants decision understanding that the secret of real sustainable success is stability and internal development and quick fixes rarely work.
I wish Nathan all the best - and i will always be a fan of his for the memories he gave us.

| Would have been happier to see him return to Oz but only he knows why he's staying. Perhaps thinks he's taken us as far as he can and needs a change. Either way, I'm behind him 100% until the end of the season. I'll always be grateful for what he has done for us but then he becomes just a coach of a rival team and we and him move on.
It's great that Baloo will take over, he must have learned a fair bit from Nathan. If NB had signed another 3 years Baloo might have been away. How long has he been the bridesmaid now? He deserves his chance. The only down side I see is if Saints try to poach our younger players to replace their ageing ones. Full back and Wing a case in point.
Note to Ken, Move heaven and earth to keep hold of Sir Danny Brough!
