| Quote: devoniangiant "Firstly - very well played Swinton fully deserved so congrats and good luck in the next round.
As for the Giants this result is no great surprise - plenty of fans could see this coming and stayed away. What a waste of £15 to see that. Those of us who went need to shake ourselves cos there must be better more entertaining things to do!
For a professional top league side that performance was shocking - not that we performed at all really. Don't agree with the Stone out comments - too easy to surmise that it is all his fault - regardless of the players selected for this game we did not play as a team - and havn't all season so far. Players have to take some accountability - they are all pro sportsmen.
Personally now fed up of all the dross comments coming from the coach and players about being disappointed, masters of our own downfall, staying positive, looking to put things right next game etc... Time for the talking to stop and be replaced by some collective action on the field where it matters.
Sometimes it is real hard to be a Giants fan - this is not the first time we have been humbled by lower division teams (still getting over the Hunslet game, and Doncaster a few years back) - but biggest issue for me this time is the lack of shock to this result. We are dire this season - even worse than last and destined for the M8's for sure after not learning the lessons - god help us if we end up in the mpg as I honestly could not see us wing that against anyone given our lack of teamwork, and play structure. Getting really worried now.'"
Sir Ken has given us 20 years plus financial stability up against the wendyball hate brigade encouraged by their owner who just want to destroy us.
Things aren't great but if you love HGRLFC like I do stay strong through these bad times.

Good on them, much deserved.
Interesting fact about average age....Our super coach mentioned 'hardened pros' from the championship. More like youthful, hungry part timers. His post match waffle gets worse every week.

| Fact is Swinton looked like an old fashioned rugby team that raised its game and after going 22-24 down just said we are going to win this and did...
A superleague elite player should have caught the kick across field that lead to the last set of six that they scored on fact is we looked flat, disorganised and clueless in attack but what's different to when we have a stronger side out ?
We failed to kick 6 times on the 5th tackle nuff said !!
Mr Stone took Swinton for granted and got 'burned' but as in theory it was the one thing left we could win this season, unless you count the '£1 million game', his team and tactics showed no respect to Swinton, the Challenge Cup or us the fans that paid to go and watch it I find that nothing short of baffling ???
Like others on here I shall use my season ticket for home games but gone are the £50+ trips to away games for now as the fayre ain't worth the time or money spent on it for 55 years I have gone home and away but I'm supposed to enjoy it and yesterday a lot of that enjoyment disappeared.
Come in Rick Stone your time should be up !!

I noticed the pathetic comment from Stone about them having hardened Pros. I know my rugby fairly well and the only player in their side I had heard of was Andy Bracek which suggests to me they had a team full of youngsters.

| Only other one is Rhodri Lloyd who played for Wigan last season and plays for wales.
According to their players interviews -They didn't think they'd have a team at all the day before the game- just goes to show the difference a team spirit can have. Something we have failed to develop.
Anyone else expecting a pasting the next two Thursdays?

| As a Leeds fan I'm expecting hugely motivated and dangerous opposition. There must be a reaction, surely?

| To be fair that side would have lost to Swinton when they were at Bradford last year. You can't blame Stone's coaching it's your feeder club that's getting worse.

| Last year it was luck and a single point that kept you out of the MPG. With this current set of players, I don't think you'll do as well as that. Brough is your star man AND your corrupting influence at the club now. Plus he is probably on a huge wage which may be stopping the club moving on. I hope you don't improve for obvious personal reasons for my own club's chances, but at present, either you or Widnes look destined for relegation.

| The situation is beyond a joke now.
The rhetoric coming from the coach is defeatist and his post-match comments laughable given the Swinton side that was out there. We don't want to win as much as the opposition. To a degree it doesn't matter whether Stone is coaching them anything at all. He isn't motivating them. They aren't motivating themselves. You can have all the skill in the world but if you run half a4sed you won't break a tackle. If you don't put your shoulder in you won't stop a runner. If you don't get back onside or up off the man quick enough you'll get pinged by the ref and if you don't have numbers and dominate in the tackle you can't slow down the PTB.
There is no leadership. On the pitch or off. Cudjoe, best will in the world, is no captain. He can't even speak to the touchline presenter post-match. This is not a criticism of him but it does show that picking him as captain, IMO, is flawed. There is no obvious replacement and that is a part of our problem. No leader.
The result yesterday is unacceptable. Swinton are struggling in the Championship, struggling with injuries and a part time side. Deafening silence from the twitter and facebook pages apart from congratulating Hardisty on his run. Better to have a white out on those pages than post that IMO. Who cares about Steve Hardisty's run after a performance like that, a(nother) season like this? Heads well and truly in the sand.
I bought my ticket this season out of loyalty to Ken. I had my ticket and stopped coming last season because it actually ruins my weekend to go and watch. I leave the ground annoyed and disappointed. What's the point in doing that to myself? I can put up with losing, Christ we have lost more than we have won in my time, but I can't put up with supposedly talented players being out-enthused.
Last week the players had a meeting without the staff to clear the air and the week after they get beat at home by a part time team decimated by injuries with two wins all season. They have no pride at all.

Couldn't put it better than that, It just tallies with my thoughts that they are all in the comfort zone.
