Hi guys just wondered what your thoughts are on ex Huddersfield forward Johnson who went to Australia last year apparently hull Kr about to sign him

Positives
Runs hard, enthusiasm a plenty, decent pair of lungs on him.
Negatives
Seemed to give away a lot of pens away. Not quite big enough for a prop but didn't have the skills for a good 2nd rower

A good squad member. Played a fair bit. If he could iron out the penalties he gave away he would be a good player to sign up. We did make him an offer to keep him this year but it didn't match up to what he wanted I believe

And yet if we had offered him a bit more he would still be on a lot less than clough (and probably Wakeman) and probably doing a better job than those two.

will do decent in the championship not quite super league level yet so may do him well having a season with you

i liked johnson, old fashioned tough prop style runs hard but lacks abit of size for a prop really at sl level.

Yet he's no smaller than both clough and weakman, sorry wakeman.
I'd rather have Johnson, one of our own, than both those.

It's got nothing to do with Thewlis or deals. It's to do with RFL rules on loans- but hey don't let that stop you peddling the incorrect rumours...

The biggest problem here is the number of low quality players and lack of stand up leader and pack leader.

Daniel Smith whoever gave him a long contract he never made much yardage or even a break yesterday again.

Sam Rapira should have stood up and led yesterday did anyone see the 'ticking off' Robbo gave him ?

Nathan Mason constantly stopped and driven back when in possession.

Olly Roberts his try apart too often hiding out wide no hard yards again.

Aron Murphy took over Jerrys jumping out the line mantle but as another poster said why move him to the wing when Mellor was actually doing well in the second row?

Have we really given Jared Simpson a new contract too easily 'scragged' and dropped a relatively easy cross kick that led to the pressure for the final try?

Tyler Dickinson looked out of place these lads should have shone yesterday but seem to have caught the malaise from the 1st team too.

Is Jamie Ellis the answer 'nope' might have made a difference yesterday but not a superleague player long term and he's had enough goes at it.
