| Quote: jools "We've won four games all season. Clearly The losses have all been grixs fault whilst he's been sitting on the sidelines for all but the three games he's played in.'"
And 2 of those defeats have in my opinion been the worst 2 defeats of the season as we actually had better players available who were sat in the stands. I could accept the earlier season defeats when injuries were biting but there was no reason to drop Brierley for the Magic game. Grixy did ok in that game but still dropped a ball on our line gifting saints 6 points, but it didn't matter then as we were so far ahead.
I'm not saying the last 2 defeats were Grix's fault, not by any means, but for God's sake let's pick the best team available to us instead of picking players for sentimentality purposes.
We've got 6 games left this season which for all intents and purposes are dead rubbers, so let's get the best team we have out there and get things right for the battles we are going to have in the middle 8's.

| I'd say our worst performances have been against Cas and Wakey this year. In the other fixtures brough and brierley played, at Cas brierley at FB and at Wakey partnered brough in the halves, all be it his first game.
Brierley isn't the messiah, playing him isn't going to change how we play, the penalties we concede, the tackles we miss or the rubbish linespeed. It's not going to change the fact that players are taking the ball from being stood still then take it straight into the line. That's down to individuals.

Granted it doesn't but there was several occasions our kicks were long, deep and dead. Which would be a fine tactic if we were restricting their meters, however that wasn't the case. Castleford made a lot meters running with the ball. Brierley was on for 20 mins tops and was offering a lot more in the way we finished sets. Kicks for two drop outs, a big cross field kick that was contested and a chase and reach to score a try.
We have a fair few issues but we are certainly a better side with brierley in it.

| Having had time to reflect, im not making excuses but Cas had an 8 day turnaround to our 5 and I felt Anderson subs didnt help the team at all. He has a plan A and doesn't deviate no matter how the games go. Roberts and Brierley were left on the bench far too long and some people wear rose tinted specs. How you can say it was moving wood to acting half brought the change and not Brierley beggars belief. What did wood do in the previous 55 mins? Granted not his fault our clueless coach plays him there but still he his not a game changer .Brierley is an X factor player and he makes things happen and not dissing grix but he has to play ay Fb against Wakey if broughie is back.

I do like brierley- but he's inexperienced at this level and isn't the amazing player everyone is making him out to be- yet.... He's not stood out in many of the games he's played in.
I didn't blame the crowd either last week- just made an observation.
Cas missed FOUR tackles all game. We missed 27... 8 points deficit taking that into account flatters us.
If we are taking the ball from a standing start, not running lines, not using dummy runners or switching play then that's easy for Cas to defend. They just have to Man mark and job done.
If that was the game plan it was shocking.

Woody did plenty in the first 55 minutes -he was our brightest player all the way through the first half too. Just as he was trying to make the plays he was having to give the ball to a player who had jogged two steps before accepting the ball.

| Its all matter of opinions Jools. We all see the game differently and as I said its not his fault our clueless coach plays him in the halves
All around me agreed that the attacking threat changed when Brierley came on and some even put him up for M.O.M

So the way to give him experience is to sit him in the stand then. We are just making up the numbers this season, what better time to play him and let him show what he can do, you may think he is not the amazing player, but how much have you seen him play, Not so much for the giants that's for sure, and he scored tries for fun at Leigh.
He may not have been outstanding in the games he has played, neither has he been poor, Grix on the other hand is often outstanding for the wrong reasons.
If we missed 27 tackles to their 4 and we are so poor in so many other areas of the game , what are we supposed to do, Keep turning up and getting behind the team, hoping that they will be better next time, We all know how they can play, we saw it at Newcastle, so we just keep going in the hope we get another of those sort of performances soon.
Just as a matter of interest what can we expect PA to be doing about all this poor play, Isn't he the head coach, Seems to me he is like the rest of us, just hoping for the best. Some one high up at the Giants wants their bumps feeling.

I agree Jumbuck he proved last night within five minute that he has that happy knack like Brett Hodgson of popping up at the right time in the right place to score you can't coach that.
Wood looked far better at hooker too so why not go with Brierley SO Wood back up hooker from the start and Jools would be happy cos Grix is playing who to be fair last night was exposed by some poor tackling in front of him and not to blame.

No Brough, thought Anderson may have reverted to Ellis & Connor as the pivots,as to my mind they combined well before JE got the injury, plus at that time they had organised decoy lines coming off 'em.Maybe it's been so long now that they have forgotten the moves.
Ando did praise how Hinch & Kyle were handling the hooking role between them.
Brough proved what an influential player he is simply by not being there. He gives 110% every game and demands no less from those around him, yesterday we were looking for someone else to provide that type of inspiration, but no one was capable.
