Fly to Girona then go by train to Perpignan. Dead straightforward with lots of trains and it only takes about 50 minutes.
We flew from Manchester on the Thursday night, had a great (late) night in Girona, train to Perpignan Friday AM, night on the razz in Perpignan then back to Girona for a couple of nights flying home Tuesday.
Hotel was slap-bang in Girona city centre and Ibis (or one of them) is about 800 yds from Perpignan station down the road facing then left at the end.
There's a Real Ale bar in Girona with lots of bottled Catalan beer and four or five on draught.

in 2013 we booked a flight to Girona, booked hotel in Lloret de mar, rented a car at the airport and drove to the hotel then on match day drove up from the hotel to Perpignan... was abit of a drive though... next time id prob get a coach or use the toll road as its quicker. |

| our flight from east mids to carrcasonne weds to mon is currently £98, train is around £40 return. the two elderly persons who spend the day in bar britz Jimmy and Dave have booked for this year, don't let this put you off cause it's Dave's 60 birthday on the friday. PARTY TIME in Perpignan  . it's ok meast, if you going this year we will wake you up around 10pm again  |
