| Thought Hicks had a decent game. A tad fussy a times, but overall quite good. Absolutely superb compared to last week!
It's all well and good saying we look lost without Lunt [which we do!], but our 'spine' contains Grix, Robinson, Brough, Wood, Bailey [sometimes]. Surely that is good enough to beat the, no disrespect to Widnes because we were once one, lower teams?
Quite a few times Wardle got the ball with Murphy given a clear opening ahead of him, but chose to run to the touchline and keeping hold of the ball instead of keeping away from the touchline and giving Murphy to show what he can do.
Why weren't Ta'ai, Bailey, & Kaufusi given more game time?
Why wasn't our most dangerous forward, Fooey, given more game time?
Of the rest, I thought that Grix was again top drawer.
I'm not going to mention anyone else because these days I don't like slagging players off in public!!
Come and put your questions to Kieron Purtill at HGSA's monthly meeting on Tuesday [7.

| went to the game and best team won, not sure what Anderson and the coaching staff did to the players last week but they looked knackered after 5 minutes. Teams now know if they play aggressive against Huddersfield they have a chance of coming away with something. Time for Anderson to allow the likes of Kafusii and Taai to start firing into the opposition and hurting people, we are too soft end of. Last night everything went down the middle but with little running onto the ball or aggression. When Taai finally came on and ran out wide he beasted Isa and ran straight over top of him, he didnt get the ball again!!! Fuey our best fodward but noone backing him up ala Kopczak on 2 occasions. The team looked frightened to try anything and it was a shocking performance. Time to stop the talking and saying we are gonna do this and gonna do that and time for some aggression to surface and inflict some pain on the opposition. As for not finishing top then wish someone had let me know and would have saved the £300 I spent on a season ticket and just bought 3-4 tickets for the playoffs, its utter rubbish and at the moment the comp we are playing for is the league, win that and then you can start concentrating on the GF, lets not turn into Leeds Rhinos

| It's early days folks and whilst it is disappointing I say we should keep perspective. Let's have a look at 10 games in....

| Couldn't get to game, Thursdays and Fridays are a nightmare for me. Seems universally disappointing from everyone that went.
Early days for the season, but nature of performance (from reports) post the second half of KR game is disheartening.
We have a good squad, with some really top strike players. I'm not too worried at this stage. My view was always that last seasons top finish slightly skewed our views of how good this squad of players is. Don't get me wrong, on our day we can beat anyone. But we were very fortunate with injuries to the creative spine of the team, and a lot players hit the form of their careers at the same time.
I still think we're a top 4/5 team, but start to this season may prove to temper some of our expectations. That in itself may not be bad thing?

agree on the agressive bit, teams are getting right in our faces and we dont seem to be coping?! why not?! our coach certainly wont like this... we have some agressive players too kaufusi/ferres/wardle/brough they do get stuck in but others need too aswell, cudjoe is showing authority now too
wouldnt mind turning into leeds rhinos if it meant we win the GF!

| Given its £20 a ticket, less for kids, plus coach transport ... Could cost £100 for a family to go to an away game- I'd say it blooming does matter!

| With all the negativity i though i would post the game stats.
Giants Widnes
metres 1474 1149
carries 211 177
metres per carry 6.98 6.49
tackles 307 339
missed tackles 17 25
offloads 18 6
breaks 4 5
penalties 7 11
errors 14 10
Nothing too much wrong with the stats and you would win the majority of games you played if you dominated like that. So maybe not as much wrong with the Giants as some think. Even discipline is good. I think if we can just find that bit of extra cohesion and cut the error count we will soon get back on track.

| the stats kinda prove what i said, that is that widnes were more clinical and executed their plays better than we did and there wasn't much between the 2 teams in all.
i have seen their last try again and still can't see whats gone on, looked like the tackled player released the ball in the tackle ( is that allowed?) and even then the tryscorer looks to be in touch when it was grounded.
on another day we would have won that game with a bit more composure, just one of those nights.
oh and on the stats, am i right to think murphy made the most carries and metres? if so, then thats a great effort

| Murphy certainly made the most metres at over 200 whichis a great effort. But then both centres and wingers made more than 100 metres.
So all the outside backs were making good metres.
