| Quote: GIANT DAZ "Or more likely, "if Huddersfield play better than Wigan, Huddersfield will win, Wigan will also be trying their hardest to win too, but as we now realise Huddersfield are becoming a threat to the 'big teams' we need to make up excuses which will make out our team lost on purpose to defend losing to them"
No one is bitter about losing to Wigan in the play-offs, that's Rugby League - the best team on the day wins and that's what happened, just like that's what will happen on Friday regardless of the spin any Wigan fans wish to place on it !.'"
Hudds are never a real threat. We know they're no real challenge when it comes down to it, like last season, we happily went to your own ground and gave you a good beating which allowed us to go on and win the GF, which was our second trophy of the year after winning the CC.
Everyone in RL knows the league is a joke, if it wasn't Hudds would have never have won it, last season the best 3 teams were Wigan, Leeds and Wire, one of them would have won the league if it mattered. You're kidding yourself if you think you can compete when it matters, just take a look at the games when they count, i.e the playoffs, you were beaten by both Wigan and Wire.
What would Wigan rather do? Risk injuring players in a nothing game against Hudds or go to Sydney with a full strength side to play for the WCC, a game worth winning? That's a no brainer.
Hudds may win on Fri, but only cos Wigan have bigger fish to fry. And please, lets not compare playing in the WCC to a nothing game v Hudds.
For you thou beating the champs (of both trophies) is a big deal, for us playing for the WCC is much more important.
Just facts pal, as hard as they are for you to take.

Didn't need any excuses when we turned you over in the playoffs did we? Or the CC final, or the GF for that...

What an arrogant post.
Give Giants some credit for winning 21 of their 27 rounds - Wigan won just 17.

Give over! If the league doesn't matter then I really don't see the point in there being a league each year if nobody competes until the play offs, I'm pretty sure we were getting slated bradford away last game of last season for putting a weak squad out... Arrogant Wigan fans

| I think anyone with ANY appreciation of the game at all recognises that Huddersfield will be a threat this season. Building on last season you have recruited well and lost no-one of significance whereas Wire, Wigan and Leeds are likely to be weaker than last season due to losing star players or just getting older. Huddersfield seem likely to peak this year and FWIW I would sooner lose to Huddersfield than Saints, Leeds or Wire.
I hope you bring a strong following to the game because your team deserve it and the game needs it. Whoever wins hopefully it'll be a great game, probably not significant in the longer term but 2 points nevertheless.
By the way - the league always matters to those that win it - just like we did in 2012!!! Don't let anyone pretend otherwise.

| Listening to what's being said over the last few points and think it's rather sad to have the mentality that's games irrespective what they are for don't matter and that my team could think that way!?
Could you imagine going down to watch our team and either not really care what occurs as it's not a 'important' game, or watching players not give it there all as they believe it don't matter! Would be shocking!
I admit you can place some games as more important than others but a loss to me is a loss and still hurts!?

I'm pretty sure that both teams will be trying 100%. It's not really in the players DNA to do otherwise. That's why the league counts.
Of course coaches try to tinker with the squad, rotating and resting players as the season goes on. But with a full contact sport it would probably daft to do otherwise.
Any undermining of the league is down solely to the RFL and the ridiculous playoff system that thankfully they have jettisoned, though not in time for this season. I have argued long and hard that it does nothing for the credibility of super league to have the team finishing 4th or 5th winning the GF.

Yet their brave bid came to a stunning end when Cudjoe stepped out of the defensive line to intercept a pass and then run away for a 90-metre effort. (Times 2)

So how many points do you get for winning the WCC?

You need to learn the difference between fact and opinion.
I doubt that Oloughlin, etc agree with you (that's an OPINION by the way -HTH)

| back to the game!
our 19 has been announced and the team i think we shall see is
Grix
Murphy
Wardle
Cudjoe
Mcgillvary
Lunt
Brough
Robinson
Kopczak
Kaufusi
Ferres
Bailey
Patrick
Wood
Lawrence
Taai
Crabtree
broughton and Mullally to miss out. would prefer to see lawrence start with rather than on the bench but dont think he will. no point in lawrence being on the bench may aswell leave him out and have patrick off the bench. think they will try patrick in 2nd row while chan is out injured.
key to winning is in the forwards against wigan...our backs can more than manage theirs... we have the forwards to do it.
wigan look good in the 2nd row with oloughlin/farrell/bateman will have to manage these
