| Quote: moggie "It means a lot to me winning the LLS. I remember watching us at Crown Flatts and we took a right spanking many years ago. I only dreamed of seeing us in the top flight then and could only imagine us winning the league. Now fast forward 25 years and we are 1 win away from finishing top. I've booked a day off work to travel down from Scotland in the hope that we can finally do the unthinkable and lift the LLS at home against Wakey.
It means a great deal to me and there was no way I would miss it for the world. Let all the supporters of the so called big clubs slag it off and say it means nothing but to me and fellow Fartowners it means something. And if/when we win it I'll celebrate like we've won the Grand Final. A Grand Final appearance might be on the horizon in the not too distant future too going off the team we've now assembled, so fingers crossed we might come accustomed to winning major trophys on a regular basis.'"
Hope it is a good day for you mate. You are coming a long way, I know as I was up in Dunblane a fortnight a go and it`s a fair long drive.

| In "O migos" Bar in Lagos, there are a lot of Giants fans, recruted by yours trully, l promised to buy a round if we won the league,
1 l was there in 62, and after the barren years, never thought l would see it again
2, as a proffesional Yorkshireman, l hate buying ale to pore down someone else,s throat, but l will, and gladly
3, a reward for Sir Ken

| It matters because it matters - as a Wire fan I wish we could win the hub cap every year. The one and only true sign of the champion team IMO.
WELLL DONE FARTOWN.

| Keefie - maybe you could write your memories of us finishing top in 1932? You must have been at least 20 years old then.

| Quote: GIANT DAZ "Its a trophy for achieving something no other team has that season - never mind the Wigan, Leeds, Wire fans etc saying it doesn't matter and we're only up there cos they 'dont want it'....rubbish we have been the best team all year and in my view they say that as an excuse for their team not being as good as ours ...surely every fan wants to see their team win things, anything ?
I want my team to win trophies, If we win the shield i will remember it for years to come, would you swap that for a 3rd or 4th place finish just to be able to play such and such team in the end of season competition ?
It is a stepping stone to glory, win this and people will start thinking of us as serious challengers in the future now, i would love us to get to Old Trafford and win the Grand final but if we dont i will be more than happy with just winning the shield.....We've plenty of time to crack the big one.'"
I'm not sure any team "doesn't want it". Rather they don't prioritise it and want it at the expense of giving themselves the best chance of progressing in the playoffs.

| More fool them.
Wigan have shown that a lack of momentum is a season killer. Both Warrington and Leeds players showed their desire to win over the round, even if their fans do what they can to play it down.

| Exactly Wadski - its the fans that are suddenly claiming they aren't interested in it, bet their players dont think that. ATEOTD its because they cant accept that our team have been better than theirs so are all making this excuse up for their team !!!.

| I struggle to understand how any fan believes their team goes into a game giving anything less than 100%. It shows a lack of respect of their own players, their team and the game.
Hence I know they're just jealous.

I can categorically say 100% that I am in no way "Jealous" of those who win the LLS.
The acid test will be the playoffs. The reality is that the other 3 out of the top 4 are desperate to play Huddersfield rather than each other.
If Huddersfield can turn up for those games and beat the others out of the top 4 then fair play. If they turn up and get beaten convincingly (as I honestly believe they will) then my suspicions would have been correct.
It's not the "fault" of Huddersfield, Wigan, Wire or Leeds that we have this ridiculous situation. It's a fault of the structure of the RL competition.

We're not talking about the playoffs though - we are talking about the LLS - that's why the subject of the thread is "Three reasons why winning the league matters !!!"
