| We were...but with only 15 of us and no-one else willing to come and sit with us it was a bit hard

| Quote: GIANT DAZ " the majority of our fans seem to have no interest in sitting with other Giants fans'"
Why should the "majority of fans" change to suit the minority??
Maybe the minority could get there a bit earlier to get the good seats in the sun?
And fwiw, for the 15 fans that went behind the goal and expect everybody to move to them, there were plenty of seats in blocks 104-106 right up to the Giants kick-off

| there was 15 in our group but loads more outside that were scattered around. Personally it doesn't bother me wether i'm sat in the sun or not...the issue is about trying to get all our fans sat together, blocks 104-106 where a lot of the giants fans were was alsdo heavily populated with neutrals and there may have been plenty of 1 or 2 seats but none so groups of friends/families could sit together cos we went and checked.

| yes we could have all got seats in the sun in blocks 104-106 but it would have meant that even more giants fans would have been split up amongst the neutrals.
like daz says the discussion is getting as many giants fans together in the same block, like at most away games, and most other fans did ,rather than scattered in between neutral fans.
if people want to sit in the sun then fair enough, but it seems there is a few people who also wanted to sing and chant and be amongst fellow fans.

agree with this
the majority got there early and got decent seats, for the minority to expect them to all up sticks and then move behind the posts was abit daft.
but next year it needs to be different, here hoping.

| No one was expecting anyone to move, people were basically saying how our fans were the only set of fans all weekend not sat together in a certain block as most of ours spread out in the best seats along 3 or 4 blocks rather than 'together'.

| TBH I thought our lack of congregating together was a bit embarrassing - even the Catalan fans on Day 1 were louder than us.
I was on my own for Day 2 and have to say that I struggled to find a decent sized group of Giants fans to sit near/amongst. It was obvious for every other game where their supporters had grouped, and as a result you could hear them too. How can they manage this and we cannot? Only the Salford fans were anywhere near the halfway line though TBF - and therein lies the problem as others have already stated.
Suggest next year we all congregate in lower tier below our fans in the reserved section (wherever that is), and get as many banners/flags around so that fans who start in other seats for earlier games can clearly see where the "Giants area" is and choose to move if they want. I am sure a lot would as we all like a bit of a chant, cheer, and atmosphere.
I think this is vital actually - any new Giants fan would hardly be that impressed with the Giants massive being as scattered as we were.
Having said all that - great weekend again this year -really enjoyed it all except the poor food choices at the stadium - but then I am a grumpy old git

think the problem was advertising people sitting in block 104, just didnt work due to the neutrals picking that area too.

| Realistically i dont think one group of fans can solely occupy the majority of those middle blocks as they are the best seats and most of the neutral fans will always go and sit there thats why most groups of fans congregate away from there to get all there fans together.
The only way it can be achieved is if everyone goes in the ground at the same time very early on which in a lot of cases is not possible.

| And as we've already said the majority of our fans won't sit in seats with poorer views- we are just going round in circles!
I'm not at all embarrassed by our fans at the weekend- there were plenty of us and we were clearly visible and when the giants scored (which was lots) a whole swathe of the central blocks of our fans stood and cheered. Those that wanted to sit elsewhere and chant did. We've been here before - many dont want to or won't so why try and make them. I'm not bothered what other teams fans think- and it didn't seem to affect the team performance any!

| Aye and at least you stepped up and at least tried to sort something. It actually sounds quite a success . The only way to get everyone into one area would be to choose a less popular section, and there's a reason why that section isn't popular.

| in reply to DEVONIAN,spot on.
as I have said before I was never intending to knock our support, the turn out was a good one, had it been a normal away game then it would have been one of the best turnouts numbers wise, and I appreciate that some people did try and get some vocal support going in the middle sections, again fair play to them and to jools for trying to get block 104 as the giants area.
but I think we have to accept that the majority of our fans, unlike most other sets of fans aren't too fussed about creating an atmosphere or being very vocal and making a good impression etc.
but as DEVONIAN said, next year lets have a section where people who do want to sit together and make noise can do,those who choose not to and the ones who want the best seats and just sit and watch the action can sit on the halfway line.

| There were 8 coaches of hudds fans that all arrived at the stadium nice and early and settled down to watch the days games-people have to accept that our fan base is decidedly different from other clubs and isn't going to change dramatically any time soon. No point complaining about them, they could equally complain about those staying in the pub so they could drink cheaply not turning up sooner. Why not make the best of both. I don't see how having a very much smaller group of fans than any other team sat in one area behind the sticks waving flags (or shoes ) is any less embarrassing than seeing the main area swathed in claret and gold all cheering and clapping all be it not chanting daft stuff. It appears that neither group are willing to change their habits and I don't see why they should.

| Rock and a hard place! I think we should promote the an area for our lot where they can pack in. The idea about the singers sitting below the reserved section is spot on as this will convey well on the cameras.
However if people want to sit on the half way line for a better view and be diluted by other fans then that's fine too! The half way line still looked good with the claret and gold spread out just not vocally there.
We have a lot said about our support by others and many of us react to it so we need to do what we can. But ideas need to be embraced while not being forceful to those who don't want to participate!

| Lets not forget the outstanding backing these same fans of ours provided in the Leeds match. The fact that the outcome of our match was easily predictable from early on contributed to the absence of more singing. Our fans can and do give fantastic support, but we choose our moments to do so.
lifting the team when they really need it is surely the most important thing. There were some fine moments where we were in reserved and a couple of chants: "Fartown", "Broughy for England" and indeed "Broughy for Scotland!"
