| Quote: Rhino Roy "A flukey kick ??? I think you need to open your eyes mate and accept that the best team on the day lost.
They must have forced half a dozen drop outs, they were held up over the line at least twice and knocked on 3 times a metre out with the line beckoning and had far more territory in the game. Murphy was immense at the back and had to be.........i really cant work out what you were watching pal but if you believe that tripe you have written then your deluded.
As a neutral they were unlucky not to cause a huge upset and you scraped through by the skin of your teeth
Yep, not far wrong there - i actually thought we were gonna lose and just like in 2011 it was our fitness and the fact we were determined not to lose that saw us home.
Dont think either side were better than the other as we had chances just as they did - they gave everything for an hour and it took it out of them allowing us back into the game....

yeah we scraped through a bit more comfortably against a SL side though.......just like we probably will in the next round too.......you know some sides can handle the big games and some sides cant and choke
anyway I dont want to derail a thread i just thought the guy that posted that utter rubbish needs his eyes and head testing if thats what he saw.....this was not a dig at Huddersfield only the clown posting something so wide of the truth it was laughable....

The better team on the day actually won.
Spot the difference:
They go over the line and were held up;
We go over the line and score.
There was never any danger of us losing.
Whilst we were nowhere near our best, and perhaps not in total control, we were the beter side.
No disrespect to Batley at all. They gave their all.
It was a classic cup tie and enjoyable to watch.
I'm with keefie on this.

| The key is batley probably played the best rugby they have played all year - and credit to them for doing so whilst we were no where near our best which is disappointing but im sure the team have plenty in the tank for two hard games against catalan and Warrington and we have the opportunity to knock Leeds out in the next round.

| A close call on Sunday although not at our best Batley played well, made use of the slope, tackled like demons and with the effort they put in made us look poor at times. They drew us into a dogfight and on another day they could easily have won. Batley have a decent team and Kears no mug and he'd obviously done his homework and got his tactics spot on. It's a good job we'd got near enough a full strength team playing or it's very likely Batley would have got the victory. Batley's not a great place to go for visiting teams and it's not easy trying to cope with the slope and the sometimes unusual climatic conditions you get there, the slope and wind on Sunday helped Batley to level the playing field. Thought it was an entertaining game and was well pleased/relieved with the result although not pleased with the way we gave possession and needless penalties away. Although Batley played well and the score was close I never actually thought we'd lose once we'd scored the 1st try and Batley began to tire and we started to find the gaps in the later stages. Thought Lunt, Murphy and Brough had good games and if they'd been wearing Batley shirts we'd certainly have lost. Although I don't think Robbo is having a great season by his standards he was badly missed, we badly need some cover for him and Brough should they get injured because I think we could be deep in the poo should one of them get a prolonged injury.

A little bitter there soft lad, perhaps the recent tonkings we've given you has stirred your bile. I'll just put on the DVD where we totally obliterated you with 12 men and sit back and wallow in my clown suit.

| I don't think anyone has been disrepectful to Batley. They were fantastic particulalrly in defence and also had a lot of possession.
Giants defence was top class though and Batley scored from a kick which should have been dealt with if ou ryoung winger had not been sleeping.
They i think made one clean break all game and this from deep witihn their own half when Murphy nailed their hooker.
The Giants probably had half a dozen clean breaks with probably slightly less possession and once they scored their first try i never realistically thought they would lose.
I would say the Giants were just the better side but credit to Batley.

| I thought the best team lost .Fartown won because they were bigger and fitter . Batley played the better rugby . One thing I couudn`t understand was that in the second half , with that huge slope to kick to , the so called best kicker of a ball in superleague , never used it once .I was confidently predicting at half time that Brough would kick Batley to death , why he didn`t will remain a mystery .

Why kick down a slope when chances are the ball will roll out and give them the opportunity to take a quick tap on the ten before the defence are organised?

| Batley tackled their heart out and made very few mistakes but to say they played the better rugby IMO is not correct. They rarely looked like scoring as most of their play revolved around five drives and a kick most of which were mopped up by Murphy.
Giants didnt play great rugby either but did i fell try to play a liitle bit more attacking rugby than Batley.

| Our defence is awesome this season 129 points conceded in 10 championship games , average of 12.9 points a game, most we have conceded is 18, in a 18 all draw against fax, some comments on here that giants played bad is rubbish, giants played as good as we let them, don't give teams space, they can't play, simples

| Cant argue with that Bob, Batley stopped us playing our usual game by hammering us in the tackle and forcing errors. They deserve credit for that ......you could see their heads go down though when Lunt scored ...almost like the wall had come down, after that though their intensity dropped as expected and they couldnt keep it up, from our point of view thank god they did !!!!

Broughy tried it once from inside our 30 metre line and the ball went dead in goal, on any other pitch it would have been a brilliant 40/20 that everyone would have been raving about for weeks.
