| Quote: Durham Giant "I so hope that i am wrong. I love your positivity. I am looking forward to Anderson being given the same backing that NB was. I so look forward to the massive increase in season ticket sales next season. I so look forward to Ken saying how pleased he is that the club are moving forward and that NBs years with a full salary cap and all the support he could have required led to great success.
I lok forward to the announcement that the club was very happy with the recruitment we had for last season where we let go Raleigh, Kirmond and Lunt and brought in Moore, Ferguson and Tonks.
I look forward to getting on the same cigarettes you obviously smoke.'"
I don't need cigarettes to see that it has been our 5th best season in the last 34 years. Or to enjoy seeing our 18s / 16s and 15s all going so well. Or to see several young players develop during a challenging season.
Maybe in your world people need 'cigarettes' to be positive....what a shame. You are welcome to a world of looking for the negatives and then bleating about them ad nauseam. You can join the supporters not renewing their season tickets who complain about our poor sales in season tickets.
Many of us will not choose to wallow in the disappointments of this season. Nor exaggerate them. Instead we will 'man up / woman up' and support the Giants.
COYG!

| Haaaaaaaaalelujah!!
I thought brainwashing was against human rights???
I`ll be watching from afar in 50 years if things dont turn out and see if blind faith is still as strong with the ladies !!
(and PS before there are any comments --yes --Ive renewed!! as in the previous 36 years (before that I paid per match) )
and yes -as such I remain a realistic believer!! --Praise be!!
But seriously -- sport is I believe part of the entertainment industry -yes/no??
and if DG et others dont think theyre being entertained or getting their money`s worth --their choice ! They earn it --they can chose how they spend it --even on fancy cigs!!
Its down to their own personal priorities and nowt to do with ANYONE else whatsoever !
There is quite a difference travelling to home and away games from London (one fan I know) Durham (need I expand) Stoke on Trent ( the lads a legend) and Wolverhampton and Nottingham ( yours truly for 6 seasons) than Berry Brow, Fixby ,or even Slaithwaite, Marsden etc ......................and for a considerable number of years and through the "dark times"
So I`d suggest a little more thought by some was pertinent before posting
Just my opinion !!

| Well said. I agree with your thoughts on this, it's a 400 mile round trip for me, and like many I found this season hugely frustrating. I will renew but haven't yet, primarily because Luckily i can afford to and want to support the club.

Spot on. Those people trying to make out that 2012 was some particularly bad season should trying some thinking rather than infantile emoting.
You are correct re them thinking rather than repeatedly looking for faults and prattling on about them on here.
A little more thinking and a little less of the cry baby is a smart call

| I'm not sure what people were expecting- looking at our squad last year - and plenty on here said as much! The forward issue was discussed before the season started- the fact that we made a good start perhaps got people's hopes up but lack of forwards came to bite us in the butt coupled with some unfortunate injuries to jerry/ Fairbanks and lod.
It was disappointing- but not unexpected.

| Good job we all don't walk away due to frustration,or we wouldn't have a club to follow.

Exactly P - and I dont think after (in his particular case DG will as hes seen much worse times than this!
And I wasnt suggesting to Jools that given the squad we had we should be surprised
But I am saying that after seeing what they did to Leeds (twice) and with a mandown on one of those occasions --noone will convince me that there was a distinct lack of "heart" on many occasions in the second half of the season that cant be put down to injuries /bad luck/ refs decisions etc
Some of what happens I strongly suspect were down to poor decisions (I`ll leave it at that ) from above rather that affected players mindset - but I think as "professionals" (whilst not suggesting a revolt) they should have the personal pride to rise above it
CG and you suggest that we shouldnt be mamby pamby when things go turtle and stick with the task
I similarly suggest if the team had shown similar backbone it might have at least rewarded us with "home" draws in the playoff
We all have different comfort zones and some are more tolerant than others in whats acceptable
But for those who still make extremely long treks to matches home or away) -- it can seriously have an effect on what height the "bar" is set
To slag em off cos of how they want to apportion the family budget aint anyones right --
However much they enjoy their Rugby and supporting their team --there are other aspects in life to consider
End of!

Try not to tell me what pleases or does not please me, you have no talent for it.
I don't dress up my pov. I just think mugs wrapping themselves in the disappointments of 2012 need to grow up.
Feel free to share your insights on Kd's body language...i suppose some on here will be interested.

Cripes Ginger (or one of their other many pseudonyms) respondedYour repeated moaning and whinging is repetitive. It may tell us more about the fate of you and your 14 fellow travellers than the state of the club against the back drop of your 34 years experience.
Plenty of fans are very disappointed with 2012 but they get over it rather than bask in their woes. They have a bit of Yorkshire grit. They 'man up' rather than whimper.
You are welcome to a world of looking for the negatives and then bleating about them ad nauseam. You can join the supporters not renewing their season tickets who complain about our poor sales in season tickets.

Clear enough ?
Ps -- Your repeated derision of other supporters whilst basking in self glorification is similarly boring
But if it amuses you .....................!

| Oh behave people and get some perspective
Was it a frustrating season? Hell yes
Was it a bad season? We've seen worse
Do we have a squad capable of challenging for the top? Yes.
That's it, that's the be all and end all of the argument.
Otherwise out of all the Super League clubs tell me which ones have a world class scrum half AND stand off (clue, the answer is none)

| Never understood this attitude of 'I am so desperate for my club to do well, but it's not happening just at the moment therefore I will withdraw my support, and that will show them'
All this is saying to Sir Ken is - get your hand in your pocket and spend even more cash than the millions you have already done - as we as 'fans' are not prepared to back your monumental investment even with a measly £200 because it isn't all working out the way we wanted.
