i think we will be much stronger next year.....we have lost david hodgson, danny kirmond and andy raleigh who only seemed to feature when we had a few injuries. We have brought in Jason Chan who is a better player than both raleigh and kirmond. Greg Eden, Luke George and Aaron Murphy all young lads with attributes to go very well for us, This also means when injuries occur at the back we have direct replacements which means bruno can now concentrate on turning into a 2nd rower pre season and gilmour will also concentrate 100% pre season on trhe 2nd row...this year he did pre season as a centre.

Tonks is no replacement for griff hence why we need 1 more prop!

stand by what i say about kirmond, like him in attack but as i said shocking in defence, misses far too many tackles on a regular basis would seem to me brown is in the same opinion.

I like the way Tonks plays, I think, although he won't be a replacement for Griff, Doof will. I think we now have so many good players for the 1,2,3,4 and 5 shirts, that no-one is safe. Cudjoe has competition from Murphy, Wardle from Lawrence, Grix from Eden etc, that should get performances out there. I think O'Donnell should be captain next year, he's aggressive and I think he'll be a lot less injury-prone, Man of Steel for me if he'd have played every week. I'm confident for next year, even if we don't get a new prop.

Doof up to prop is a gamble, has he ever done it before.Lima,Puletua,Leuluai are why these clubs challenge for the major honours.

I could see there being a few shock positional changes next season.NB is gonna have to alter things as his gameplan this year in the end got found out.More of the same might not work.Maybe us as fans have to be more patient in the early season if we aren't blowing teams off the park and suffer shock losses. As long as we are building.'It's not how you start it's how you finish' is now the buzz catchphrase of SL.

Could anyone see Murphy at FB,Grix at SO & Kev at loose.

How does this look.

Murphy
Jez Wardle Leroy George
Grix Brough
Kev
LOD Charlie
Doof Fooey Mason

Eorl Larne Robbo Tonks

Doof has played up front before, he has the experience for Souths and the Kiwis. The bigger question is his fitness. If he can stay fit I think he will do well. Really well.

i honestly cant see us signing murphy and not plan on having him in the first 17.

Think the partnership of cudjoe and george is going to work really well - if leroy stays on form i can see george scoring lots of tries as he is very quick and strong near the line!

I can.

We paid no fee for him. They got a great deal as it was, better than us, without the fee. Just because Wakey say they got a fee doesn't mean they did. They would have had a new stadium 15 years ago if we took them at face value.

He's a Leeds academy product after all as well. Yes. Leeds. The most prolific club in Yorkshire in terms of producing players. Not Wakey. Leeds. And in terms of bringing them through to the first team, we are next. Not Wakey. Us. And we're only going to get better

Things aren't as bad as some of our fans try to make out. Try being a Wakey fan, or plenty of other teams.

Fact is we're doing pretty well right now and we should start realising, acknowledging and celebrating it. Moaning wont bring in more fans. Being positive will, and why not be positive? After all, it could be so much worse.

Maybe it wouldnt hurt to reign yourself in a touch icon_wink.gif.

Murphy was part of Wakefield academy setup before we nutured him over the years into a SL standard regular. But yes we got him from Leeds academy. Don't see why that matters.

Are you really trying to suggest all your fans celebrate for being knocked out in playoffs early and finishing mid table? Maybe a pleasing slap on the back Yes, but I admire your passion icon_wink.gif

Anyway back to Murphy. Good solid player. Top def but att needs work. I wish him look.

It matters because all a lad has to do is go for a wazz in the toilets at Wakey and some claim him as a Wakey academy product whereas the reality is rather different. So perhaps better to reign your own lot in, start keeping some promises and cast a judging eye on your own clubs performance instead of parping it here! T'is the off season in case you'd not noticed and we need to keep ourselves amused, after all!

I agree with these sentiments Dan.'Rollercoaster' it was never more apt for us.We did look like trophy winners early. The players acknowledged that's the way they were feeling about things too.We suffered from burn out in the end, that much became obvious. We still held on to 4th though, and in so doing at last got that Headingley win.

The only game I was really annoyed about was the final one, which I thought was a let down in terms of application & execution.

Don't see why some should be still be depressed,we are building already for next season in terms of squad, and Nathan has already stated that next year our defensive resolve will be back to that we have come to expect under his coaching.
