Greame Horne; left a bottom-three club for a top-three club - bet he can't believe his luck...

Packing down in a scrum in todays game is not a skill like knowing how to time a pass and having the technique to do it.

He has size, he's amazingly strong and has good feet for such a big man. He's not a winger any more, he's certainly not a centre and I very much doubt he sees himself anything other than a second rower.

Michael Lawrence knows how to pass, he can time a pass. He's been doing it since he was playing U11's. Kirmond does not have that ability and it's going to take more than a couple of training sessions to pick up those kind of skills.

I agree Kirmond is no centre and Gilmour should not be used in the centre either.

The centre positions should be covered between Lawrence Watuira and Lolesi who i did not include as a second row as he did not play there all last season.

I agree with then above although i do think Jammer did play some time at second row last year.

I know where you are coming from but he would be more effective as a second row running out wide and helping to create a gap for more skilful players to exploit. remmber Fatz's wobbly legs routine last year that set up a great try for his winger. Gilmour will be playing a similar role next season, runnimng out wide, running inside angles and giving tghe centres more options to go inside or out.

With Gilmour on one side and Kirmond on the other we will look defensively solid and have some pace in the second row.

2nd Rowers for 2010?

Manu, Lauaki, Fitzgibbon, Radford, Tickle, Burnett just off the top of my head.

G Horne has always been good cover for us but wont be challenging for a regular start for you unless you get masses of injuries like we seem to get.

Horne would not get near our best 17. With a few backrowers recovering from ops it makes sense to get some cover. As GH has been looking for a club for months the chances are he has been signed on a very low contract. Once bodies are back he can be loaned to the likes of batley and will cost us even less! An experienced youngish player offering cover in a few places - on a short contract with something to prove - and costing little seems like a good bit of business.

All those injuries you had....I blame the conditioner icon_wink.gif

Just lost all credibility now icon_wink.gif , hopfully he wont be anywhere near our best 13, our backrowers should be Tickle and Fitzgibbon both are excellent players, with Manu off the bench and Burnett as backup (who looks an excellent young player). Pretty happy with our backrow, saying that a backrow of:

Raleigh, Gilmor and Wild (all British as well)with Faologo off the bench looks very exciting.
