| Quote: Raaaaymond "It will never die out as long as there is a club in Huddersfield. The younger fans learn about our history from the existing fans and are already chanting the name at every game.
Totally agree.
FARTOWN!!! FARTOWN!!!
I have always known the club as Fartown, still call it Fartown, always will. Someone telling me to forget my club's history and the memories that have gone before under the Fartown banner is not going to make me do it...

| the problem is our fan base does not consist of many teenagers like myself, we usually are the ones that do sing. the problem is the majority go to watch the football so we only have a few in that age range. until we get more coming to watch us we will always have poor vocal support.
i do agree though that we need more songs, the more the better.

I disagree, for all of the time i have been watching Fartown i have been one of the more vocal fans and our vocal support has not really consisted of large groups of teenagers but more 21-40 age range.
there is more teenagers now than i can ever remember before though

| ATEOTD It's not rocket science, I would think if you went to watch a game, be it RL, Footie or even the darts you would want to join in to make it a great atmosphere.
This season at the Galpharm it has been shocking and is an embaressment when the away teams are out shouting/singing us, I always prefered the atmosphere at away games for this reason.
Huddersfield will always be known as Fartown as this is part of history and certainly not something we want to forget, That was tried in the 80's and went down like a lead balloon with the Barracuda/Pirahana and arena 81 malarky.
It is sad but Huddersfield looks like it will never be a Rugby league town again like it was in the 60's-70's and before. A win at Wembley would have been good for attracting new fans but it wasn't to be.
I just hope Ken Davy never gets bored with us cos I feel without his backing we would really struggle, even with the offer on season tickets for this current sesason the fans have not really taken it up.
It's sad and I think we need to stop trying to get everyone else to sing, if they don't want to sod em, let em look at you like you are mad who cares.
STAND UP WEAR YOUR COLOURS WITH PRIDE AND SING YOUR HEARTS OUT FOR THE LADS, WE CAN THEN LOOK AT THE NON-SINGERS LIKE THEY ARE THE LOONIES.
Oh and I don't just mean if we are winning, sod the score at the time, get behind the team win, lose or draw cos I can assure you they never step on that field with the intention of losing, look at the effect we had against Cas in the Quarter finals, the game was over on paper but we kept backing em and they produced the goods giving us a trip to Wembley.
We are not losers we are Challenge Cup Finalists 2009, N Brown's 1st season and a c/cup apperance and minimum top 4 finish. I would have settled for that wouldn't you?
Lets build on this for the new season and make 2010 a year to be a Giants fan. oh and before I forget well done for 2009 whatever happens now.

| Well said FP - we need to rally behind them now and show them we still support them.
Our fans always have been pretty quiet at home but we have shown when we are winning games that we can make noise and it does lift the players.
Every weekend i lose my voice at the Rugby through shouting and singing and i hope i will continue to do so for many more years to come .

| in do feel that our fans is more of an older generation
i was with meast going down to celtic and on about the good old days which by the sounds i wish i was there obvs im only 18 so
but i do feel that there isnt to many young ones like our group at the back and when we do get some there normally town fans that have come for a cheap game or summat
if it doesnt change soon im going to be worried about the support in the future when im older

| hahaha well suppose thats a good way of doing it
i mean when i was 15 we had 9 - 10 from my school who came from my school i mean season tickets £35 for home and away matches but soon as they became students and just got home matches for 85 that group split to 3 or 4 so me and ma m8 had to build another group that would come to every match which is what where doing now
but its hard to get support in a town that prefers football :@ which frustrates me so much since rugby has been round longer

| trav,
make sure that you guys stick with the club when/if the going gets tough again.
we did 20 odd years ago as you know from listening to me and mark rabbiting on about the old days
but we got our reward by seeing fartown at wembley
the problem in the past has been that people of this town dont seem to stick by teams when they are doing badly,so its upto the young un's now to keep that support going.
