| Stone needs to go.
He's brought in a brand of very dull no mistake rugby with no attacking flair which relies on building pressure.
Giants are great at building pressure then totally inept at scoring points from it.
In a sports entertainment business it's also incredibly boring to watch.
If another Aussie coach is brought in then it's more of the same.
Time to give an English coach a go.
The other issues are poor recruitment and not just by stone. Need a Full back, half and at least two props. Mamo was great but is suffering from second season syndrome, Wakeman is average, Clough could get away with being the weakest prop, smith is poor.
The only recent recruits with any promise are Turner and Dale Ferguson.
Going to be a long long season.

2016 saved us from the drop
2017 got us in the top 8
thats progress
needs to continure with a top 6 push or minimum top 8
too early after 4 games.

So you think he’s improved the giants side?

| For me, its the Brough era rather than the Stone era ending that will bring about the biggest change to the way we play. I don't think any coach could tell Danny to play any other way than how he does. He has been great for the club but as has been said we are now creating lots of opportunities but converting very few. We need to build around a new player (whoever that may be!!) I would be happy if at the end of this year both Brough and Stone go we bring someone in who has a real chance to make a clean start at changing the way we play.

| Didn't see this post. Just posted my views on a new topic.
Regarding players:
Mellor I think could be a asset having trained preseason for 2nd row. He didn't get a SL pre season last season.
Wakeman - Dire, waste of a quota spot.
Mamo - Will be good in summer, crap in winter. Rumour has it he's off anyway and at the moment, I can't say I'm too upset.
Smith - Simply not good enough for Super League.
Roberts- Wasted when starting, better off bench.
Murphy - Solid but way too slow now.
Jerry - Needs a good centre, otherwise wasted.
Gaskell - Not a centre. Squad player to fill in for me.
Rankin - The same
Brough - Not what he uses to be.
Symonds - Injury prone.
Bruno - Injury prone
Turner - Solid signing
O Brien - Decent signing
Kruise - Doesnt seem the player of last season so far.
Ferguson & Clough - Out of contract this season and are now playing so much better than last season all of a sudden?
Hardaker will know this is his last chance. We should be trying for his signature when he's done his ban.
Players id like to get rid of personally:
Smith
Gaskell
Rankin
Symonds
Wakeman
Clough (for the money he is meant to be on)
We are in desperate need of another prop, half back and a winger.
Wigan for example have about 5 wingers better than Murphy.

| If the style of play stays the same then we need to change, we are the worst team to watch and pose little threat to the opposition. Even with everybody's reservations about various players I'm sure we are capable of playing more attacking rugby.....continue as we are we won't score enough points to win enough games to have a chance of making the top eight.we have to make the best of the squad we have only time will tell if we can do that but i have my doubts at the moment. I would switch Gaskell and Rankin I think Gaskell will offer more at 6 and we need a 17 on match day that are match fit!

| You need to keep Stone - he is doing a great job!
Brough should get a contract extension NOW!
And that tiny number 13...well, double his pay and contract right now!
Up the Giants.

| For me a decent bloke and a reasonable coach not convinced he will bring success no better than 8 this time. Said for a long time change needed at the club off the field everything is stale and we need a new approach and mindset. Over to the boss !

| He claimed he'd improve us dramatically and hasn't done. He's had the time he claimed he needed.
Anderson was sacked for one bad season after many competitive ones.. though he hadn't been in an injury crisis like that while he's been coaching.
He never had the opportunity to bounce back.
Get rid at the end of the season for me if our style of play and attitude hasn't got any better ... extending his contract will show us we are accepting what is on offer.

In what way do you think he’s improved the team compared to when anderson left?

I’m not sure what happened with Anderson. I think there was more going on there than was ever made public.
On results alone, he deserved a chance to turn it around. If you look at a combined league table over his period in charge, we were by far the best team in the league. We were on the verge of breaking through, which would have made the club IMO
I think there was obviously a lot of bad blood over the business with Ferres. But there was also the clear statement by the board of no ambition over the World Club Series. Mixed up, those two things crushed the spirit of the club imo.

| If we don’t get the right results in next two games then the pressure will start to build on stone for me he isn’t the right man for the job he is a typical Aussie coach five drives and a kick we have the best winger in the world who doesn’t touch the ball
