| Quote: halifaxgiant "Giants fans who weren't there and Huddersfield public in general hang your heads in shame sky weather etc no excuse we have a team that can win something for the first time for 50 years that figure is an insult to the financial backing ken Davy has put in over the last 15 years to drag our great club back from being a laughing stock to a serious force in the game ask yourselves if our town deserves it. Please get there on Friday if it isn't too hot cold wet etc we have a big chance of going back to the top of super league I'm sure the wigan public won't let their team down'"
Frankly I'm embarrassed. We can be playing the best rugby on the planet but the only thing that other fans will go on about are our pathetic crowds. Mot looking forward to the jibes from rhinos fans tommorrow. Sorry but unless you are working or genuinly skint ie out of work no excuses.
People could do without a couple of pints and a takeaway to find the money. If you don't put the money into the club the club won't be winning silverware.

| After seeing over 4000 town fans travel to MK dons for a 12.30 kick off yesterday lunchtime i think we can all see where the Huddersfield public's sporting interests lie.

| I don't get it. I can understand a lower attendance than we have been getting in the league but come on. We talk about having the 5000-6000 core fans then the floaters who watch us and town or only come for the better opposition. Everytime we get make progress 2000 over a wakey, close to selling out our allocation for magic weekend, 1000 over at Catalans we come up with something dire like this! We can't force people to come and like I said I expected lower but 4000 of our own missing fans....poor. let's hope the Wigan game on Friday sparks the passion and we pull a big crowd! Up the fartown

| I went but there were plenty of factors to affect yesterdays attendance. 2 RL games on TV(ours included), some footy on tv too so I hear, paying £15 to watch our boys run riot over a poor SL team which doesn't get the juices flowing. In 39 years i've only missed 3 home games and even I was in 2 minds whether to go to the game. We'll see most of our fans on Friday night in the big one but then again it's on SKY so there'll be a few who stop at home or have work commitments. We'll take more fans to Salford in the semi final that we had at home yesterday.

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

| It was about what I would expect. Wigan Saints only attracted 12,000. I say only because last year the league fixture between the two teams at the DW attracted 24,000. It's all about scale.
We usually get 5,000+ against London for a league fixture, Challenge Cup games attract significantly less than league games. Why would anyone expect 5,000 for this match given those parameters?

| Exactly
The issue is that people pay to see their rugby in Different ways these days, with most fans being season ticket holders so when we are called on to pay for a game then it's time to consider all the factors
Clubs would probably go along way to making CC fixtures part of the season ticket costs, if all clubs do it then no one loses out and gate money is still easily shared
But until then the cups, and the playoff games are going to be poorly supported

| People have decisions to make about finances. A second home game not covered by a season ticket in the space of a fortnight is a lot to ask of people.
What that does mean is that there's one set of people you can blame for the low crowd yesterday: the Conservative party

| Most of our fans have probably paid around £100 for their season ticket this season - thats 13 home games, works out about £8 a game - the problem with cup games is that that person is then expected to pay £15 to watch that one game - our 2 home cup games have been against much weaker opposition where, and quite rightly in the end, people expected walkover wins for us !!, if there's a family your talking £40 ish for each round of the cup.
You cant just say the Giants are playing at home therefore everyone should go to the game if you are a fan - it doesnt work like that. The people who were missing will be there on Friday because the game is already paid for and more attractive to the casual fan.

| I used to think for some clubs CC attendances are an indication of support they might attract if they were in the championship or even performing poorly in SL and charging average season ticket prices. Now I'm not sure cos two and a half thousand looks on the high side for Hudds

| Alot of Huddersfield people follow both Football and Rugby, a fair few no doubt will have watched Town in the playoffs, away on Saturday and with a home tie tomorrow night. There's a high chance they will be forking out again to see them at Wembley. I don't follow Town, but I can understand a lot of folk who simply need to make some calls on finances, with the Giants being on TV, for some it's a no brainer.
Don't worry I think we'll travel in good numbers come the semi's, ateotd it's the team that wins the came not the crowd and those like me who was there yesterday throughly appreciated the efforts of the team.
Its the usual rubbish we get from opposition fans talking about the attendance as quite frankly they have little else to criticize now the team are performing to expectations and beyond, joint top and in the semi's.

When i mentioned that i was told it doesn't count because i was an earlier round and not as much at stake plus none of them teams were in the top 2 of super league so that didnt count either !!
