Will the clubs see it though or will it go elsewhere?

Or will it pay for the expansion of Superleague?

I hope we don't expand. We just don't have the player numbers to provide a suitably intense league. We need tough games every week and expanding will not help us on the International stage IMO. If anything the money should go into developing kids.

Agree totally but with Widnes being granted a licence and some positive noises about Halifax coupled with the inevitable howls of protest that would accompany the axing of more than one current Superleague club then it would be an easy out for the RFL.

Aye, I suppose. The RFL confirmed a good while ago though that one team would be booted out didn't they? So if we do expand it would be one leaving and another one comign in at the expense of a current SL club if what the RFL did indeed say it. I don't think it's good though if it happens.

I seem to remember them saying someone would be kicked out, I think I recall someone officially saying that Superleague wouldn't be expanded as well. maybe it's the cynic in me but I could just imagine them saying something along the lines of "The new TV deal has changed things and the extra money will allow us to expand Superleague." RL doesn't have a great history of making long term plans and sticking to them.

I'm not sure, how would the league work, as with 2 coming in and 1 going, we'd have 1 team each week getting a rest.

Yes it evens out over the season, but bit of an unfair advantage at the end of the season if you are in the playoffs and the week before you get a rest.

I'd like to think we'd put our extra slice into the further development of all our youth systems, right down to the scholarship teams.

the rfl are going to have £1 million less funding from sport england

i dont know why the bye system is used in nrl as there are 16 teams.

also hear no championship or nrc games on sky next season.

If this is the case you would like to think a free to air broadcaster could be found so the profile of the game could be raised - I won't hold my breath though
