I'd like to see connor at 4 too- he deserves another run out. Also not convinced we should switch smurph to the other side.

On paper it has all the hallmarks of a good close encounter.

However, we've been poor away from home this season and I'd expect you lot to run out winners comfortably.

Saying that, if you roll the dice and get the decent Salford, like you did last year it could go the other way. It looks like Harris is determined to keep the main skeleton of the team together over the next few matches, so he's not going to be resting anyone for this first game over Easter.

Looking at their squad we should win this. They have some "names" such as locke- but is there a q mark over his fitness? Chase-obviously, although he's never really played at his best against us. Dobson is consistent-we need to not put too much focus on chase as Dobson IMO can be more dangerous as he rarely has a bad game. Sau has looked very decent so far. But their pack doesn't worry me. Morley isn't doing much, mr teapot griffin is below all our front runners,
and lee, ( great tackler though he is), won't trouble at the ruck like robbo/woody have been.

No doubt for my eyes we have a better squad than Salford... But this weeks Salford team is on par if not arguably better than the one that smashed us all over last year. They certainly are playing better together and have a more settled coach and team. Throw in the fact they have a habit of beating us it's going to be a very tough battle.
I hope home advantage and great form will get us the 2 points because Salford won't make it easy for us.

I think you'll see Liam Hood play big minutes. Ball in hand were getting there. Defensively not so good. You say your squad is better on paper i disagree i think ours is the one of the best but that's been the problem to many supetstars and not playing as a team. Hopefully though were starting to gel as a team.

Oh yeah watch out for Paterson pure class with ball in hand!

I'll still say Huddersfield by 10 home advantage seems massive this season.

i rated paterson when he was at hull kr and seems he is just as good now

Lee is very under rated, we tried to keep him but he went for more cash to london

salford 3/1 for the win, not a bad price considering they seem to put one over us every season

hopefully we can continue the winning streak especially after beating warrington away!

I think PA has confirmed that Murphy will play Centre and Broughton will come in on the wing. Not that way I would go (Connor into Centre) as I prefer to keep the changes minimised but I don't have any issues with the decision.

With this game I can honestly say that if we won easily I wouldn't be surprised, if it was very close I wouldn't be shocked and if Salford did a number on us I wouldn't be stunned. I think we'll win but if we have one of our 80% days and Chase has one of his brilliant days the writing will be on the wall.

Really looking forward to the game because of that, because I'd love to see Chase and Brough going head to head at their best (with Brough coming out on top, of course) and because for me it's a great kick off time to start the Easter Weekend with a fair few drinks before, during and after icon_biggrin.gifRUNK: COYG!

Disappointed to see Anderson has done the very Nathan Brown thing of changing more players round than is necessary, trust him atm though so hopefully we will get the two points.

At least it won't be difficult to read where the majority of Salford's high kicks will be aimed...

Liam will play big minutes?? good - we can run at him then!!! defensively we are tight and line speed is good atm so we can cope with his running from dh. Same with Paterson - he may be good with ball in hand but defensively hes a lazy sieve by the looks - and lockes stats make grixs look good!! As an overall picture Id certainly say our squad is better if we aren't just looking at the obvious in your face stuff - cant win if you cant defend!!!!

hughes to centre might be nice to see going forward but could be a massive waste imo - hes too good defensively to shift him out.

Hughes was going really well in the second row at wigan and didn't they try move him to the spot? Pretty sure second row is his prefered position.
Murphy did very well at the right position when covering Leroy with his dead leg last year.
Rewarding broughton for going out training, getting behind the lads playing and having the rite work ethic is the correct option. Wood and grix and Bruno went out and proved themselves, now broughton is doing it! Good attitude from the squad bar one lad who is no longer part of our squad

Hughes played centre at Wakefield and did not perform too well.
Broughton has waited patiently for a game and as a specialised outside back would be the obvious choice to come in. Murphy will slot into centre easily enough.

I always thought Hughes started out at centre and to be honest we're not exactly bereft of options at centre if we needed someone .

Agree Re Broughton earning his chance by being patient, couldn't imagine a former hooker going to play at Oldham cos he wasn't first choice and biding his time !!!.

It's a nice option though when we can bring in a player like Jodie to cover...

dont understand a few posters wondering why murphy has gone to centre to replace cudjoe, its the logical move with broughton ready to come in too on the wing.

broughton was due a game this easter too, been out at oldham like a few others have and look how they returned!

just hope he performs now, will be abit worried when the high balls go over his way though icon_razz.gifRAY:
