| can't really say im surprised by lunt leaving, it appears his heart wasn't in it ,especially this year and i've always said if a player does not want to wear the claret and gold then show them the door.
i will add that i've got no ill feeling towards shaun lunt who has been a top class player for us over the years, sadly as others have said, he hasn't kicked on at all, in 2009 he was the best young no.9 in the country, and he was between him and roby who took the hooker spot for England, unfortunately injuries and form prevented lunty doing this.
but we should remember what good service he gave us over the years.
like chan and others it's a shame it has to end this way though.

| Funnily enough after the Widnes game I said to my mum that he looked like he did before we sent him out on loan to Leeds. Lacking his usual spark, focus and generally being a bit slack in defence.
That loan really worked for Lunt and I wish him well. A good move for all involved and no doubt he will be a top player with a fresh challenge.
Really hope this means we see more or Kruise. It will give us a bit in the salary cap but can't see who we would sign that would add the required quality. It will probably be used to tie Connor down long term if not already.

| do we need to replace him though? we have ellis, robbo and wood not to mention leeming who can all play 9.
should one of ellis or robbo move to 9, then wood or connor can cover half back for them.

Bet HKR are are surprised they've signed someone with the class of Lunt and it wouldn't surprise me if we get someone in who's a class above and adds another dimension or our team. Would be good to try and give some of the youngsters a go as we've got quite a good academy set up with many promising players coming through.

His second spell in the second half against Widnes he was more direct but it's fair to say he's been a shadow of the player he has shown back in 2013.
He needs game time now to sell himself. He won't want to stay at Hull KR next season. They're too far away from Cockermouth. One hell of a drive back up there from the far end of the M62. You're talking 4hrs on a busy day. More even.

But maybe not with child running amock.:6243.gif |

| He hasn't really wanted to play for us with 100% commitment since he was forced to come back from Leeds. Like has been said a shadow of the player he was and maybe the change will do him good. Good luck to him.

| No big surprise here...
Been linked with a move for a long long time, it has also showed in his performances for us, been injured half the time to boot too.
acted like a big baby due to being dropped for robinson and Wood, which was the right decision on his perfromances.
hull kr had abit of cash after weyman retired and got in touch with lunt (again) so lunt goes to the club and says he wants to go.

However if the club has any serious ambition of success it should be looking to bring in a quality replacement to the squad. Personally i think we are well covered at hooker and would look at a big aggressive forward.
Not replacing just makes the squad weaker and strength in depth is already an issue.'"
lack of strength in depth? we are covered in every position.
that said i would like to see someone come in but catn see it, lunt was out of the team..might have not got back in if robbo and wood went well.

He's just signed a 4 year deal too and seems more than happy to be here.
Looking from the outside getting rid of Lunt appears bizarre, always felt he was a good player!'"
who says we are after him?
we dont even need a hooker, we have wood and robinson with leeming waiting in the wings.

We have the 19 in the squad for Thursday plus Broughton and Mullally. After that we are down to kids. It is probably the smallest squad in superleague. Any injury problems we mean real issues . I thought we were light in numbers before Lunt left.

| It's not a big squad that's for sure. Lunt going is no real surprise, half hearted at best this year. Clearly he wasn't interested. Don't forget he got dropped last year for being soft (not sure if that was ever made public).
Cue the news that Eorl has signed a new contract to try and get the fans back on side.........
