I dont know all the ins and outs of the deal that saw Connor come to us, but by all accounts Hull weren't entitled to pay compensation. You can say that they were immoral or that they played the system if you want, but ateotd what club is going to pay out if they can avoid it? I am absolutely certain that Huddersfield will have done something similar in the past.
As for Connor himself. My understanding is that the deal was signed and then he started having second thoughts. Whether this was something to do with Stone, or whether it was the prospect of leaving his mates behind at Huddersfield or whatever, I'm not sure. Hull stuck to their guns and said we aren't releasing him, if you want to keep him you will have to pay. In hindsight, Thewlis should have swallowed his pride and got his cheque book out, but it was a difficult position for him to be in.'"

| Libel actually seen as it is in written format, Jools comment is certainly libelous and as such the victim could sue. However, in order for defamation of character to be proven there is also the requirement that it "lowers the reputation of the victim in the eyes of right minded members of society", and here we have a problem. Would right minded members of society take Jools' comments seriously?  |

If calling someone a rat is defamation Ken Davy could have sued half of hull by now- not to mention a sizeable portion of Huddersfield town supporters.
I stand by my thoughts on Pearson. If he’s that bothered then he can go ahead and sue me- he won’t get much!
By the way mr manning- if I’d called AP an idiot, a lunatic, a self serving blazer, or a dick would that be ok? Asking for a friend.

Unfortunately for you Jools you put your “thoughts” in writing in a most abusive way. There’s an old saying in Yorkshire, “thas got more mouth than a cows got ####. Now there’s lesson in how to say something, without saying it. Leave our chair alone, he’s a great guy, respected and a gentleman, and with a young family, just like Mr Davy at your club, a fine ambassador for our great game.
We as fans can remonstrate with others, but remember the values of self control, and the harm, misplaced words can bring in this social media age. |
