I have just had confirmation that there will be a minutes silence before tomorrows game and that the players should all be wearing a black armband in respect for the passing of Stuart Greaves.

Good, he was the kind of person RL was built on.

Terrific news, I'm sure Stuart will be smiling on down from above willing the C&G on.

so glad that the club are doing this for the big fella, i'v been told today that all the ameture games in hudds will also have a minute for the big fella,

The Holliday Cup final will be especially poignant with Stuart usually doing the match announcements.

I have to say absolutely impeccably observed by the crowd tonight, well done, I'm sure the big man would have enjoyed tonight's victory and tribute to a never to be forgotten fartowner.

Stuarts funeral will be held at Parkwood Crematorium, Park Road, Elland.
3pm Tuesday 6th April.
Family flowers only.
(I believe that it will be a claret & gold themed event, with players attending in their shirts.)

think it also showed with the applause after just how high regard Stuart was held, usually the crowd just burst into cheering but a hell of a lot actually stood and applauded before they started cheering.
Would have been nice to rattle up 50 for the big fella !!

I am Stuarts' nephew, i would like to thank all the contributors for their kind words, thoughts and the esteem that you all held for him. I was at the game last night to see the Giants win, with my mum (his sister) & my step dad. The silence was so impeccable the only noises were from the birds in & around the stadium.
We were looked after by so many people last night, all with kind words of comfort and condolences. I, like you all are struggling to come to terms with his passing, he was loved by his family who miss him terribly, but we take comfort from the fact that he had an "Extended" family of sorts who were his friends & colleagues, who like his family are also finding his passing a tremendous loss.
Once again thank you for your support & please attend the funeral if you can. You can judge a man not just by his monetary wealth, but in how rich he is with friendship
