its because we know whats coming and get let down by the players time after time when it comes to a crunch match, semi final play off games, cup finals, now its back to the old relegation heart ache again which we have suffered before
yes we can beat leeds, beat them twice already this year but going to hull kr and winning is another thing as we dont win away from home, guess what the mpg will prob be away from home too

I repeat again speaking for myself (after all the stick weve received0)it aint moaning - its being realistic about some of the outright "let-downs" weve suffered over 50 plus years and the hope that "next season" we may put it behind us instead of now slipping back into the "pit"
If it hurts her - just think what we are going through!!'"
To be fair to you "more senior supporters" at least you were there to witness the glory days of the team of all talents rodders, unlike us young uns who have the 3rd division, "European cup" divisional premiership, the LLS and an infirmary cup to bask in

Thanks and best wishes to your lot too!
However i don't think we are capable of beating the other sides, we have faced 2 decent sides, sides which to be fair we should expect to compete with and we have bent over and had our knackers felt on both occasions! i really hope I'm wrong but the players don't appear to have any fight in them at all.

| There was a huge amount of reality dished out at the weekend wasn't there. How many, like me, thought 'if we drop into the middle 8s we will get out of it no problem'?
Not sure any of us envisaged how deep rooted the problems were. Rick Stone has been merely forced to window dress. I dread to think what his thoughts on the mentality of this group of players is.
I know some don't like it but let's let our frustrations out and I'm sure as hell frustrated.
Huby and Ellis are too fat, like Christmas puddings. Murphy confidence is on the floor and I feel for him as he's an honest lad. Wardle and Connor do not give a flying **** what happens. I'd throw Taai into that too. Not sure he can be bothered putting his knackers on the block as he's off anyway. Eorl has become a big fat old bugger who's moaned his way through the last 2 years. Ormsby was so bad at Batley it's inconceivable that he will play 1st team again this season. And 'Mr Wonderful' Danny Brough is all part of the problems that started in February with his off field indescretions.
Anybody want to add anything else?
And before I get slated, this is a forum, opinions are my own and this is the place to air them.
The hard part is that making these comments hurt. They hurt because I care more than the majority of our players.
If the feared reality happens, they will move on but we will still be here.
How Richard Thewlis has avoided any mention in my message is beyond me!

Great being a fan isn't it, for most of us at all levels it's highs and lows - and there's always someone worse off than you. Don't think you will but even if you do go down it's not the end of the world, people drawing the line need to get over it and back the team they love.
And look on the bright side, if you are away in the MPG it could well be at the LSV as salfords ground isn't available

| Quote: Durham Giant "My message to the players
I have been watching the Huddersfield for over 38 years from Fartown to barracudas shuddersfield and Giants.
in that time I have travelled all over the country to watch them play Fulham, Kent, Whitehaven and Perpignan.
I have spent thousands of pounds and thousands of hours driving all over the country.
For years I have driven up and down the A1 so much so that I know it like the back of my hand.
In that time there has been 30 years of failure punctuated by a few highs. A couple of promotions two challenge cup appearances and a LLS.
There have been four good years in Sl.
The rest of the time it has been a litany of failure. Huge losses 60 70 or 80 points drubbings.
Travelling away when less than 30 fans would go to away games.
Games at home when only a few hundred attended. Years of being SL,whipping boys.
In all that time I have put everything Into supporting the club. Hoping one day to be able to say I saw the Giants win something.
Not living off a history that is in the record books so long ago that hardly anyone c'an remember it.
I. Have exerted so much emotional energy and passion into supporting the club. I have been angry frustrated saddened and depressed rarely ever having any positive emotions.
My eyes are full of tears as I write this because I feel the same as when I watched my mum slowly dying of cancer because that is what it is like watching the Giants now.
Slowly watc/hing a loved one die. Knowing there is nothing I can do.
I no longer have the energy or emotional strength to watch .
I texted my sister who went to te game that I was so nervous I could not watch.
Then I did start but after 15 minutes it became unbearable. I turned the game off and deleted it. I could not bring myself to watch it anymore.
I have just cancelled my sky sports. I cannot bear to watch the Giants anymore. I need to hide away because I cannot face what is going to happen. I just want the end to come quickly so I can move on with a new chapter of my life. One where I do not have to put myself through the depression of watching more failure and disappointment.
To enjoy my 50,s and time with my kids as they grow up.
This probably means nothing to you judging by your performances this season so I don't expect anything to change.
All I would hope for no matter what happens is that wherever you are next season you can turn around and if I see you in the street look in my eyes and say you gave everything you had .
How many of you could say that now ?'" Great post Durham!I have been a Huddersfield supporter for over 66 years but come Sunday I shall be watching my final game.I cannot in all honesty continue watching a team(I use the term team loosely)who in my opinion do not wish to play for the claret and gold. There has obviously been a problem with the dressing room since the start of the season which has been kept under wraps by both the players and the officials.I believe that the majority of this squad do not give a toss whether we stay in SL or not and have proved this by the games they have thrown [I can think of no other reason]When these players move on to other clubs will their new teammates have any respect for them? I think not.I know one or two players visit this site so I ask what the hell is the problem?

For the last decade we have had nothing but 'look how far we have come', 'look at all the progress we have made' from players and staff. They need to look how far they have fallen in a year and show 100% commitment this weekend!

Well said. If we stay in Super League everything will be brushed under the carpet. Thewlis will still be responsible for Recruitment and Players contracts. Rick Stone, like Anderson will be told who will be signed. Nothing will change Brough will sulk and upset all and Ken will dose off, Oblivious of how the Club is being missed managed by his CO and Director.

| Well I went to my first game in 1961 as a five year old and was lucky enough to see the Championship Final of 1962.
For those highs I had to put up with far too many lows and the swapping of my beloved barrier on the terrace side at Fartown firstly for Leeds road and then the John Smiths.
We've had some good times recently LLS, two challenge cup finals and the narrow defeat at Saints when the grand final beckoned.
We played enough Rugby in patches this season to sort of think that we'd be ok in the qualifiers.
However at Salford I watched the first of two horror shows and said to my mate at the end of the game we are going down unless something changes.
I don't blame Rick Stone the malaise was there and far too deep rooted for a 'quick fix' he must be as horrified as us when what looks a pretty good team on paper is so spineless and rudderless on the field.
The real ty horrible frustration on Saturday was actually when they suddenly started playing with 29 minutes to go and at 48-40 Leigh were starting to wobble it proved that with just some application in the first half the game was there to be won.
I can't see anything but three losses and derby's with Bradford, Halifax and Batley next season !!

What evidence do you have that thewlis is responsible for recruitment? Anderson was NOT told who to sign- only how much money is available from the cap- that's a managerial issue that no coaches deal with. Stone is NOT being told who to recruit.
I'm not sure how thewlis is being blamed for what's happening on the field. He's messed up with Connor and Mason in terms of not understanding the meaning of some of the rules on contracts- but it's the players alone who are responsible for application of their skills on the field. This team were winning games last year!

| Isn't walking away akin to the spineless attitude allegedly shown by your players? They'll be all be gone at some point, maybe sooner, maybe later. In a year or two (hell, maybe even this weekend though I hope not) you could once again be watching a side that makes you proud.
