| Thirded, and it says something about the man that he's prepared to stay on until the end of the season and not leave the club out to dry, in what must be some tricky family circumstances for him.

| I'm not a Giants supporter but will be sad to see Brown go.
Seems to have done wonders on the pitch for you guys in the short time he's been here (not sure if all the credit is his or not) turning you into a top 4 club.
I think his honest/straight talking interviews are a breathe of fresh air compared to most of the namby pamby cliche stuff you get from most coaches.
Isn't Graham Murray available? If so,worked miracles at Leeds

| I've mentioned his name with regards to a few posts over here on the boards, but former Souths coach Jason Taylor may be a strong candidate. He has some TV work over in Aus, but not currently a head coach. Arguably his achievement of taking Souths to the playoffs back when he did was comparible to Brown taking St George to second given their relative starting points.
Sad to see Brown go. He'll find a very different NRL from the one he left, but shouldn't have a problem getting work.

| Will fourth that! Very sad news, he's been fantastic for us. Wasn't Jason Taylor the coach knocked out by Fa'alogo last season. If so, possibly not then!!

Anyone who is not a Head Coach or a National Coach would have difficulty in getting a Visa.

| Get Woody Harrelson in, Giants fans can't tell the difference between Huddersfield RLFC and Huddersfield Giants for starters.

| Kear is adept at polishing turds or rolling them in glitter. We need something more than that.
You stick with your turd polisher.

| The thing going for us is Ken. Saints and Bradford may not be able to afford to pay what Ken might be prepared to pay. And hopefully Brown will be giving any potential candidate positive feedback about us. This is all of course if the club decide to go with Baloo, if he thinks he is ready. He may think 2 years under another top coach could be the final piece of his coaching apprenticeship instead.

| latest on browns reasons for leaving..
His wife and three daughters are currently in Sydney after being stranded by the volcanic ash clouds that caused major disruption to European air travel and it was during a conversion on Skype with middle daughter Annie that Brown finally made up his mind.
“When I came over I planned on staying for three years but there are some things that have happened in the last three or four weeks which made me realise how far I’ve taken the kids away,” he told a press conference at the Galpharm Stadium.
“The kids are home and they’re going to the beach, and to the park and going on boats and they don’t get to do that here.
“They deserve to do that because that’s the lifestyle I had and it’s the lifestyle I want for them. They’ve given up two years of that for my coaching.
“One of my daughters said to me on Skype ‘daddy can you please move back to Australia because I want to live here.’ That summed up for me 100% what I needed to do.
“Generally, all the decisions that are made in my family are based around what I do for rugby league and this was made for what I think needs to done for my children.”
Brown, a former head coach at St George Illawarra, insists he has no job lined up in Australia’s NRL but admits a successful end to the season with Huddersfield would improve his prospects.
“At the moment, I’m jobless from October,” he said. “Hopefully, something comes up but I’ll have to wait and see.
“I definitely haven’t anything lined up and, regardless about what’s been speculated about, I haven’t spoken to anybody either.
“Hopefully the better we finish up, the better the chance of me getting something, I’d imagine.”
Huddersfield decided to announce Brown’s departure in the wake of their 60-4 hammering by Warrington Wolves in the Carnegie Challenge Cup last Saturday.
The coach is now hoping the relief he is feeling will spread to his players as they prepare to take on Engage Super League leaders Wigan Warriors at the Galpharm on Sunday.
“It’s been on my mind a fair bit over the last three weeks and there’s been a lot of stuff in the papers which is never good for any club but now it’s out of the way, we can get on with it,” he said.
“Getting it off my mind was a good thing. Now I’ve made the decision, I feel comfortable because I know it’s the right decision. Today has been the best day I’ve had for a couple of weeks.
“Losses like that probably build up over a period of time. They don’t happen overnight.
“It’s probably an accumulation of small things and, as a coach, I have to put my hand up. I could have been a bit harder on some people and there are some players that will probably but their hands up.
“There are a couple of areas where we took our eyes off the ball and as a group we let ourselves down a little bit. But the key is that we come out this week and put in a good performance.”
