Following the announcement of a new contract to coach the Huddersfield Giants in the 2012, Nathan Brown admitted the decision was a relatively easy one to make;
“It was a pretty simple decision really; we always said that we would wait to make a decision until after the baby was born and the family are really happy here. When you are far away from home it is important to know that my wife and kids are happy. We have had a lot of good support from everyone at the club and the kid’s school and different things like that so we consider ourselves pretty lucky. We are all enjoying the experience and when you are living and working so far away from home I think that’s very important.
“As a club we seem to be improving year on year and that is something we intend to keep on doing. We have a good blend of players in the prime of their careers and younger guys who are continually improving, there’s no doubt that this is a club on the rise.”
With Brown signed as Head Coach of the claret and gold for the 2012 season it will bring his tenure at the club to a minimum of four years, he praised the support of his extended family and staff;
“The fact that all the family back home are behind us and very supportive about us staying here makes a big difference. We thought we would be staying here for three years but we have all remained open minded about it.
“The players deserve a lot of credit for how we have progressed for the last three years and obviously the back room staff plays a massive part too. We have been very fortunate to have a group of players who are willing– they work hard off the field and take it onto the field on a gameday.”
