But if you pick the team that was top of the table and they beat you the response will surely be "serves you right, shouldn't have been so cocky" etc. If the team that is the lowest placed one available to pick beats you then as disappointing as it would be then there isn't that same aspect of cockiness about it (if that makes sense!)

We should be playing the lowest ranked team without any of this daft club call so I think out of respect for the other teams that is who we have to pick.

Huddersfield and its e support excite me about as much as a visit from le cats, crusaders or harlequins. What a dissapointment and massive anti climax it will be if we choose to play you instead of Wigan for our last ever match at KR.

Saints always said the policy was picking the lowest ranking team and we have. its common sense in my book. Huddersfield are on form and showed last night it will be a tough game and I am 100% sure we will not underestimate you. It not a case of ' bottling' anything and having Leeds and Wigan tough it out with a days less rest before the final also makes sense.

As has been said, our chairman made the point in the media last season that should we ever be in the position of making the club call, we would choose the lowest ranked team. He has followed through on that. No controversy in it really, is there? Logic would suggest that between 2nd place and 5th place, 2nd place has the better chance of winning. Obviously that isn't a given by any means. I was there when you knocked us out of the CC semi last year and I hope my team remember that experience also, and play accordingly.

Meanwhile, I hope we have a great match on Friday.
