can see were your coming from daz, but must admit im with gahan on this one dont want to see any club go out of business, not against them dropping down like crusaders to lower levels, but dont want it to be the end of the bulls.

The bulls built their support base on their infield success throughout the whole of West Yorkshire. That meant that fans who wanted to watch a quality team were prepared to travel from the whole of the county. The Salary Cap has created a leveller. Teams like Huddersfield are now able to compete and therefore people don't have to travel that far. Add to this the economic climate, people are less likely to travel to watch an average team, but may still class themselves as fans.

Bradford are a victim of Franchising, of levelling of the playing field and of some serious mismanagement. The previous board thought they could buy their way out of the problem with a few big signings and an offer to pull the fans back, the team failed to deliver that season and they were basically screwed.

I feel for the Bradford fans, the ones who put their hands into their pockets to stave off the impending doom a couple of months ago. What a total waste of their money. I really hope they don't resent losing their hard earned cash and vote with their feet. I can see there may be many, many annoyed Bradfordians who have a season ticket and a hole in their bank balance.

sad day for rl to lose a team, but i am on daz's side of the fence on this one, if we have to lose a team i dont see a problem with it being the bulls
after all the little digs we used to get when they were a winning team

Exactly! I hope the Bulls pull through this and become a decent side once again.

I agree - We need as many yorkshire clubs as possible to encourage the local home grown talent!

What is with all this with sports clubs who believe they can spend what they want, go into administration and not pay off their debts.

I am not saying I want Bulls to go under but you know you have x supporters at £x per game times x games, plus sponsorship and TV money. That is how much you have to spend.

People never think about the people running well run businesses who have given them services and not been paid, thus putting their businesses in jepordy.

The killer was the bank pulling the overdraft for Bradford

No one saw it coming, nor could they have. Otherwise they run fine all season

Happened to a lot of other companies in the last few years

Good point well put, much bigger and more profitable concerns have fallen foul of the banks and funny they are happy to be bailed out but do not care much if their customers go under or not.

Errm..... It doesn't take a mastermind to work out that if you sell your biggest asset ( Odslum Crater) you have no collateral, therefore you are trading illegally.
The Bank had no other choice than to pull the plug.

I take it you've seen the details of the Bulls overdraft arrangements and terms of business then?

Also

The sale of the lease had nothing to do with the bank pulling the overdraft.
