| You would have to imagine that Cummins has made some kind of conciliatory comments to NB with regards Gansons performance judging by that.

Quote: Steve obviously got the game wrong the other day, "Brown is confident his side will avoid another heavy penalty count after gaining assurances from the Rugby Football League's referees controller Stuart Cummings.
St Helens referee Steve Ganson penalised the Giants seven times in the first 15 minutes at Warrington in an apparent attempt to speed up the play-the-ball.
"Steve obviously got the game wrong the other day," Brown said. "I'm sure he's aware of that.
"That certainly wasn't how the game has been refereed this year but it's happened now and I've been assured by Stuart Cummings that it will be refereed the correct way this week.
"That's what you want, a good fair contest."
Warrington's Phil Bentham has been appointed to Friday's match, with Ganson taking charge of Sunday's other elimination tie between Wigan and Catalan Dragons'"

| If you are relying on a 'good' ref to win it for you then you are in trouble.

| Interesting comments form Browny there.....at least he waited till everything died down before saying something.
I take it from the comments that Mr Cummins wasnt happy with Ganson neither then...

| Why? Every man and his dog saw Ganson had a stinker, the only good thing is that it certainly didn't effect the result.

| he certainly did not effect the result but he did spoil what could have been a much better game to watch without all the penalties

| Brilliant! Didn't realise it was Bentham. First game of ours he's officiated since the final.

because he just sounds like a right whinger - others did complain about the merry whistling- but at the end of the day we werent smart enough to change our game to play the game the way the ref wanted, unlike wire - and unlike leeds did the week before. And if we'd have played our game the way we did against them at MM or the way we did at Headingley we wouldnt have been penalised.

| Yes we would.
Wire were playing the game no differently to us, they just weren't getting penalised for it.
Same happened to Hull v Leeds the same weekend. Two teams, one ref, two different reffing interpretations.

Absolutely true - Brown's comments reveal him, to the outsider, to be astonishingly arrogant and a poor loser.
I expect him to face a disciplinary and a stiff fine, much like Mr Agar did earlier in the season when he made similar comments about Mr Child's officiating.
