| we certainly do miss lunt, wood is an able deputy but lunt just makes things tick over nicely more than wood does.
as for murphy, i dont think he should be dropped, his all round game is impressive, his defence i think is bet than broughtons, although no doubt broughton is a very good winger would his defence stand up to briscoe and watkins better than murphy's? im not so sure.
i dont think we can criticize any individual for last night, the whole team was under par.

| You didn't play well because you weren't allowed to IMO. Widnes' defence was superb on the night and had we not gifted you 2 tries in the first half, we would have won comfortably. Just shows that a good big 'un doesn't always beat a good little 'un and commitment, organisation, pace and endeavour go a long way in modern day RL.

| Even though Widnes fans are saying we gift you two easy tries, we got gifted 2 also. Mellor was a gift and as for our last try, god knows what happened.
That said, think we deserved the win. Huddersfield are a fantastic side and it just shows how far we've come along, especially with injuries.
Thought Hicks had a stinker. He wasn't biased, just a bad referee. When we drove you back 5/10 yards into the in goal and he penalised us, that was ridiculous. We drove and the player never stopped moving and I could Hicks for some reason shouting "Held" so the penalty was always coming.
Good luck next week and hope we kick on and beat Salford

not quite.
we were both as bad as each other for misplaced passes, dropped balls, mellors try came form a dropped ball by us which put you back in the game.
as i said previously there wasn't much between the sides, widnes were more clinical and got their execution right at the right times, both teams capitalised on the others' mistakes.
enjoy your win and your season though.

i actually thought hicks played to your crowd somewhat, he only spotted i think 4 of the 445 forward passes your crowd called for overall though, nothing too controversial which is how it should be.
agree about the rest though, overall i think widnes did deserve it and good luck to you too.

| Well done Widnes, your team wanted that game more than ours did, they showed more effort, more enthusiasm and more composure and were deserved winners.
We looked lost without Lunt, again, and without him i can only see us struggling in attack.
One thing we have to remember now as well is without it sounding bigheaded we are now seen as a scalp as we have won silverware so other teams, the ones that our fans probably expect us to beat easily, will undoubtedly raise their game against us. We have no divine right to win any game and our players need to learn they cannot just turn up and win against certain teams. I really hope to god our players haven't got the 'these games don't matter' attitude that most of the 'big' teams seem to have, i want us to play our best and win every game !!
Though Grix was probably our best player last night and he was going absolutely bonkers with the team after their 2nd try as Clough went over through a huge gap that he had been shouting at someone to fill for 2 tackles - Bad communication or just idleness ??

He did get that decision correct - lifted leg is an automatic held call. Hicks wasn't too bad-compared to the ref last week anything is an improvement. perhaps youre used to them listening to the constant booing and shouts of forward.

| Thought Hicks had a decent game. A tad fussy a times, but overall quite good. Absolutely superb compared to last week!
It's all well and good saying we look lost without Lunt [which we do!], but our 'spine' contains Grix, Robinson, Brough, Wood, Bailey [sometimes]. Surely that is good enough to beat the, no disrespect to Widnes because we were once one, lower teams?
Quite a few times Wardle got the ball with Murphy given a clear opening ahead of him, but chose to run to the touchline and keeping hold of the ball instead of keeping away from the touchline and giving Murphy to show what he can do.
Why weren't Ta'ai, Bailey, & Kaufusi given more game time?
Why wasn't our most dangerous forward, Fooey, given more game time?
Of the rest, I thought that Grix was again top drawer.
I'm not going to mention anyone else because these days I don't like slagging players off in public!!
Come and put your questions to Kieron Purtill at HGSA's monthly meeting on Tuesday [7.

| went to the game and best team won, not sure what Anderson and the coaching staff did to the players last week but they looked knackered after 5 minutes. Teams now know if they play aggressive against Huddersfield they have a chance of coming away with something. Time for Anderson to allow the likes of Kafusii and Taai to start firing into the opposition and hurting people, we are too soft end of. Last night everything went down the middle but with little running onto the ball or aggression. When Taai finally came on and ran out wide he beasted Isa and ran straight over top of him, he didnt get the ball again!!! Fuey our best fodward but noone backing him up ala Kopczak on 2 occasions. The team looked frightened to try anything and it was a shocking performance. Time to stop the talking and saying we are gonna do this and gonna do that and time for some aggression to surface and inflict some pain on the opposition. As for not finishing top then wish someone had let me know and would have saved the £300 I spent on a season ticket and just bought 3-4 tickets for the playoffs, its utter rubbish and at the moment the comp we are playing for is the league, win that and then you can start concentrating on the GF, lets not turn into Leeds Rhinos
