I thought it was damn near impossible to be worse than Mick De Vere!!! but he was poor all he did was the high kicks like somebody has said previously

If you think Michael De Vere was poor then you don't know a lot about rugby.

I am actually disappointed Fulton is leaving. I think he was a top quality second row forward and if left to play in that position would have been a real asset.


Just checked the stat on Fultons defence
His average tackles per game was 35 and 1 missed tackle. This is a huge work rate and even beats Wild (32 tackles 2 misses a game)

MDV is one of the most outstanding defensive centres I have seen.

Fulton proved to be a very skilled ball playing back rower +A terrific defensive performer + the best touchline penalty kicker we have had in the Sl era + phenomenal bombs.(less effective in the halves but he came as a ballplaying 13).

De Vere was the worst player i have ever seen at the giants, rubbish rubbish and rubbish.

I could name at least 30 players we've had in our time in SL not fit to lace De Vere's boots. And hundreds from before that.

MDV is probably the best defender/tackler I've seen at the Giants, and one of the best defensive centres of the SL era. To suggest he was "rubbish, rubbish and rubbish" is just stupid.

I'm tempted to apply a sitewide ban to anyone who thinks MDV was rubbish.

One of the finest centres ever to grace the claret and gold.

Back to topic, Fulton was brought over as a Stand off/Loose forward, this is where the problem lies. He is certainly not a standoff as he doesn't have the required pace off the mark for this role, he looked very good as a ball playing Loose Forward/Second row.

His workrate in defence was second to none and tackled well above his size, his bombs added something else to our game this season, sorry to see him go but with Gilmour and Fa alogo coming in we have a luxury of very good 2nd rowers.
