Quote: the stella kid "Giants have won 5 out of their last ten superleague games. Three of the five losses were away games at Saints Wire and Wigan (so not games we would have been tipped to win at the start of the season)

Even if the Giants lost all three games left (which we wont) it would still only be one win less than last year so it is hardly a step backwards.'"

so were not expected to win at wire saints and wigan now?

oh dear, might aswell stay as we are then.... some of our fans are just happy with where we are, it was the players who werent expecting to win at these places a few years ago at least they have tried to change there midset icon_rolleyes.gif

We would not be favourite against any of those sides away from home with a full side never mind one delpleted by injuries.
In answer to your question i see any positive result against one of the big teams away from home as a bonus.
I expect us to win at home and to win away at the bottom sides but no i do not go to the likes of Wigan and Saints and expect to win which is maybe why i don't get suicidal after every defeat like some on here.

we can win at them places but the fixtures have come in a bad timeing with injuries losing brough when we did was bad timeing lod and fa'alogo pick n choose games they play. missing lunt for the time we have hasnt helped as we have had to swap our half backs around. we had a good performance against kr then we changed alot of players to bring back a few players that have been on the sidelines for a little while.

so adding rusty players to a team in a big game like that isnt gonna help players cant just turn it on when they come back from layoffs and with the ammount of changes could have distrupted the team a little. also we have rushed brough back and is still having problems with that ankle which personally id give him the next 3 week off bring him back against leeds to get him a game before the playoffs.

so its not always gonna be nice and rosey when stuff like that happens but when we do have our full team like most of the first half of the season we showed how good we was and what we can do but being 4th in the league is nwt to panic about yes recent form isnt the best but its not like we cant change it

The only way we've gone backwards is from the the high standards we set ourselves this season. As the seasons gone on we've steadily become as normal as the other clubs in SL (Wire and Pies the exception). This could be down to other teams improving more than us as the season has gone on or we have taken our foot off the gas and become quite complacent. Hopefully NB will get it right before its too late this season fingers crossed icon_biggrin.gif icon_biggrin.gif

I'd hardly call a 67% win record against Wire & a 50% win record v Saints a step backwards. We've won 3 and lost 4 against the top 3 sides. Not disastrous, I'd say.

if we are honest its the games against Crusaders, Wakefield and Bradford that really hurt us as had we as we should have done won them we would be three points clear of saints not the other way around...

In reality the difference over the years between Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Bradford in their 'pomp' add warington this year is that in general even with injuries they 'put away' the teams outside the eight and a lot in the eight.....

In order to achieve 'silverware,' a GF or a top two finish we need to do the same.... and be able to rotate our 'big guns' for the big games against the other top sides....

Yes Ivor we do we have had one player thats played for England as a centre and are so called Knights players havent played any international rugby at all, just to be in a national squad does not make you an international class player, like i said we need some quality centres.

After tonight enough is enough our once promising season is in tatters and talk of Grand Finals is purely that. Some important questions need to be thought about.

Can we put up with this Nathan Brown farce every year is he staying or going? Are we going to have the same next year. Why dont we get tough do whats right for the club we are at the start of a new 3 yr period either he commits for 2 or we make a change or nxt season will be ruined again

Is Richard Thewlis the right dynamic chief exec to take us forward a number of things point to the answer being no.

Are some of the players really good enough to be winners? When you watched Saints 2nd team defend their line last week you saw a club desperate for success Are our players?

It may sound harsh but the fall has been too dramatic for something not to be wrong in the organisation. The current debacle will not help at all in selling next year and some tough decisions need to be made otherwise pretenders is what we will remain.

To be honest for the return we have got is it worth putting up with the yearly NB farce anymore? Even if we tie him down to a 3-4 year contract he is always gonna be ready to jump ship as soon as his dream job in Oz comes up.

ATEOTD We have won nowt under NB so he on a par with the likes of Jon Sharp trophy wise.

Look at what McGuire has done at Wigan, that team has desire, fire, flair and a will to win second to none.

They are playing fantastic RL and as much as you may dislike them it's hats off to the rugby they are playing, as for Sam Tomkins he is a class above anything else in SL at the moment.

Can we not find a C&G McGuire and Tomkins somewhere?

Sorry to repeat my self, but we are watching a Jon Sharp team [5 drives, etc, see elsewhere].

If there's dissent in the camp then the reason or reasons have to go - whoever it/they is/are. This has now become ridiculous.

can we not try maybe passing to someone who isn't the player next to the guy with the ball........were so one dimensional its laughable and we couls have 20 players on the field and wouldn't look threatening in attack !
