You are cordially invited to join the RFL Crowd Watchers Association. This is an organisation for people who purport to be rugby fans but actually like to look at the attendance. There will be regular meetings and the chance to purchase special merchandise.

Meetings will always begin in the same way. Those in attendance will spend the first part of the meeting counting the people in the room. This is followed by a session where those in attendance make disparaging and infantile comments about those who have not attended. At the end of the meeting there is little or no discussion of the content of the meeting. Instead there is continued repetition of the comments made at the start.

RFLCWA has always sought to be innovative. This year we will introduce:
‘The wing mirror’ – our members have sometimes been unfairly castigated for facing the crowd rather than the game [how else can we count them?!. This new product allows you to ostensibly face the game. However it is discrete and highly manoeuvrable and enables you to count people behind you.
‘The Mappy’ – our members like to count every last person attending a game and the sheer excitement of noticing who is AND isn’t attending can leads to some people ‘having an accident’. The Mappy [

:2erff5tsppy is the discrete way for Crowd Watchers to deal will all their involuntary emissions. Later in the season we will introduce the Woppy for women if there is sufficient demand (most women seem to watch the rugby!) and Mappys with club logos will be available from 2012.
