unless we get a better replacement then stand off, if we do then centre, for those who say he isnt a stand off and i was one of them and i was shouted down about it, he is never a loose forward and when the forwards have given him a platform to play he has played well at stand off, the way our forwards played in last half of season they didnt give the backs much chance to play

and before someone mentions simpon as a stand off again have a word with yourself, we wont become a better team by putting him in there for brown

You are quite right. Let us sell half of the team , recruit Benji Marshall and just go into the season with a squad of 17.

Not sure where I said we should sign Benji Marshall although wouldn't turn him down but IMO standoff , scrum half and hooker are the main positions so I would have thought you would have the best possible players money will allow in these positions.

If that is Kevin Brown then so be it, we maybe need to start concentrating on
bringing better youngsters thru ala Saint Helens and the likes of Lomax, Gaskill ect and not letting them go without having a chance.

We have Brough at scrum half and Robbo at hooker but and I stress IMO we do not have a top class natural stand off.

when we had brett at fullback last year it was like having an extra 6 in attack . wigan wire are paying full cap like us the sign top class players we getting possible 2 playres from wakefield . its been said on boots and all we had the best sqad in supper league but not the best team need a smaller squd but with more class players

I agree too many players who have been sub standard when they eventually get picked. My biggest concern was that Hardaker ripped our defence apart Wardle and Horne were both at fault and from where I sat didnt even try!

Our defence went backwards before making a hit too much of the time and then were driven backwards. We need more commitment. As for KB I for one think he needs a little more time to mature as stand off Brough and Brown when on song are awesome.

kev brown is a very good player indeed, however i wonder whether he would be better suited to centre,which is where he started out? he has good feet,good passing skills a fair bit of pace and trickery, im not sure if he's all that good an organiser/playmaker to be a top stand off.

I saw Kev Brown play centre for Wigan Loads of times. Total waste of his talent.

He's a stand off and in the top 5 in Superleague.

It appears that he is trying to address an imbalance in the squad by reducing the number of second rowers and increasing the depth in the centres. This should see us cope better with injuries in that area and it is crystal clear to everyone that we have too many second rowers.

I would feel a bit happier if some of these centres were swapped for PROPS

With Bruno moving to second row, if it's still happening, then we do lack depth in the centres and you can understand one more coming in. I think you possibly mean second rowers going to props. If Molloy, Fairbank and Sarsfield are going to get game time next season it will mean the likes of Gilly, Fooey, LO'D, Chan, Bruno(?), Fergy and Doof missing out and that assumes that Raleigh and Kirmond are moving on. Definitely a huge number of second rowers there.

All those second rowers and yet our best second rower Fa'alogo (the only one who seems to be able to break a line) is going prop next season...
