| We were outplayed by a good giant side., did it mean much, in context of the league yes, you have beaten one of you main title rivals, but possibly not for the two cup competitions.
It's a bloody good job you were rusty or it could have been worse.

| I thought Hudds played well, pack looked good (terrible about Patrick, I hope he recovers soon) they moved the ball around well and Brough just keeps getting better, bar his spot kicking.
On the other hand Wigan's pack looked over powered, lots of mis-communication between Sarge and Thornley wihch resulted in numerous tries down their side. Well done Hudds, on the night you deserved the win...
...hold on just wait a minute, is there more to this story? Did Wigan go at it all guns blazing doing what they could to win? Were they even bothered? Well yes and no.
Yes as in the players out there surely had to give their all... one would hope so, but for some reason Wigan rested their two best players (Lockers and Charnley) and only gave McM limited game time, were they all really too injured to play? I'm pretty sure all will feature heavily when it counts over in Oz.
Why would Wigan rest such players in such a 'big, massive, means the world game' like playing Hudds in the opening game of the season in a playoff structured league? Oh yeah that's right, cos it means nothing, more important to have said players back for games than actually count.
i'd pleased you guys had your day in the sun, I particularly liked the fact than in recent years you've beat Wigan at Wigan 6 out of 7 times, and from that, won the GF 0 times... shows what it gets you!
All the best for the season gents

All in all the truth is the real losers are the fans, they deserve a true league, one were finishing top of the league means you're the champs. Then we'd have a stronger league with true champs.

Black Backgrounds/Statler.gif Run leroy , run !.... And he did - twice - and we partied hard...:Black Backgrounds/Statler.gif |

| Surprised me that koppy was on the bench...
All played well - especially goal line defending.
Thought koppy and especially Eorl did longer minutes that kafuski and tai.
Is taai our fourth prop now?

| Koppy on the bench was a great move - Kafusi being swapped with Koppy means 20 mins in out front row gets stronger
Ta'ai definitly looks like 4th prop now which is good, looked the business too and I thought Kafusi looked good too
As did Bailey

| Agree bailey seems like a very busy player. After 10 minutes bet he'd touched ball as much as lunty.

| Joe Wardle. Great. Turning into a great all round centre. Expecting a big season from him.

| i got the team right apart from the starting props..
told you the way to beat wigan was in the forwards and we smashed them, on taylor was putting up any resistance.. big blow for wigan losing o'loughlin, was confident of a win when i found out.
danny brough had a mixed bag, if his kicks would of gone over then the game would of been over by half time..but he did some great things too.
grix was brilliant, really playing well now... our attack is looking very good too, so many options with bailey in the team!
defence great, defended set after set on our own line
wigan not the same without o'loughlin/tomkins/charnley in the side.
how did bowen not get at least a sin bin for the high tackle on grix?!?!?! on report? no benefit to us! and the rfl recently said they were to clamp down on this kind of thing only last week. will he now miss the WCC with a ban?
overall a great night on the opening day of the season again, adding to a great record at wigan, only downside was patrick which looks like a bad one, luckily we have chan to slot straight in. Lunt struggling with his ankle but seems to be ok with two weeks till next game.
taai looks like our 4th prop now.
20/1 ferres first try

trust me grix is not the best fullback in the league, ratch is better, bowen will become better, hardaker is better and lomax will probably be better aswell.
not saying hes not a top player, but hes not the best.

You're also responsible for a couple of nasty hangovers at our house this morning....

| We were far from brilliant, but made Wigan look very poor....defence won us that game as the chances we bombed could have cost us if we hadn't been in control.
I said at the game that without Tomkins i felt no threat whatsoever from that Wigan side, with Tomkins chiming into the attack i always felt worried he would carve us open....Bowen has a hell of a job on to get anywhere near to that level for them.
Thought Broughy was average by his own standards but still way too good for a clueless Wigan team.
Kaufusi, Eorl and Koppy hammered there forwards i thought and Bailey looked busy if not over creative though this will improve as the year goes on.
Leroy and Joe must rank up there as one of the best centre partnerships in the game, monsters in defence and always a handful in attack.
Brett Ferres was, as usual, awesome
Jerry's finishing was world class and Grix is getting better with every game ( how on earth did that hit on him go unpunished ?).
An excellent win, even though we were far from our best.

| Just watched this back. Any Wigan fan who says Wigan were not bothered about a win are talking out of their nether regions- they need to watch the reactions of the players and wane during the game!!!!!!!
Still some work to do- but I like the pizza delivery!
