When all is said and done, one thing no-one has mentioned so far is the Giants' bankability viz. the higher sponsorship deals they will be able to command.

With the amount of tele exposure we have had this season, our main sponsors should be willing to cough up a much bigger wodge next year, probably cover the Mase money and some.

What about the ones who may not like the way Huddersfield Giants conduct themselves in light of the judgement? Just saying before anyone starts throwing their toys! Your stock would have been a lot better without it!

If I read it correctly he had 3 years left on a £95k p.a. contract and offered to go for £100k but Huddersfield offered him £5k? That's unbelievable! Could this be a double-sided kick in the pants now with the Kopczak saga? Would this strengthen Bradfords case or is all that sorted now?

I also beg to differ that the club is the villain in this case. The Giants weren't the ones who posted revolting photos online. Whatever the ins and outs of what followed, the club made a stand for decency. But perhaps the legal advice wasn't top drawer.

And neither did Keith Mason. The club accepted that and yet still dismissed him.

I find it distasteful that the club has continued to bang their head against the brick wall by talking of 'decency' after being found guilty of unlawful dismissal in a court of law.

It is also ludicrous that the club was unable to pay a bond in good time. But the most ridiculous thing of all is that nobody has either fallen on their sword or been given the bullet..... whoever was/is responsible for this debacle is still there, and clearly doesn't give a sh*t.

Seems like the club used this as an easy excuse to dismiss an employee. How detailed was the clubs investigation one wonders following the picture posting. Seems like Scott Moore brought more trouble than he was worth second time around. I don't blame Keith Mason one bit. Bitten us on the backside a bit at Stuart only played 9 games (albeit through no fault of his own). I blame Nathan Brown.

I agree with you .....i have no legal knowledge etc but even i can see from just reading the extracts that have been available to me that the club is in the wrong and have made big mistakes - if i could see that why couldn't the people running the club at the time.

As for standing for decency if that is the level the club is setting the bar at it is very low and would need to be acted upon in all cases.

Next Giants player who gets drunk and urinates in the street will no doubt be fired as quickly.

As for decency as the court have ruled he was not sacked for the picture he was sacked unfairly because the Giants wanted to save money effectively.
Trying to ruin someones career unfairly is far more indecent than anything done by Mason.

As for the legal advice yes it sounds crap BUT in my experience lawyers often give advice on what they are told. The failure to provide documents to the court occurs normally for two reasons,
1 / it is embarrassing
2 / It undermines your case.

If those documents were not shared with the lawyers maybe that contributed to the advice given.

Regardless of that someone is responsible and the silence by the Giants is not good.

Trying to defend the indefensible in my eyes makes it even worse for the giants.

They could at least say we acted in good faith but got it wrong and apologise and move on but coming out with this decency crap just stinks.

Which facts do you think are incorrect? Has the newspaper not just reported the evidence presented to the court and the decision of the judge?

This whole saga has without doubt embarassed the club but I don't think there's a club in Super League who can say they have always managed every incident beyond reproach and always conducted themselves in the perfect way. All you can do is hopefully learn your lessons and I truly hope the we do this.
There should be an independent internal enquiry and the issues identified and addressed - whether that's individuals disciplined or simply the commitment to employ truly independent advisors in such cases in the future. Then it's time to move on.
