| Rushton signed a new contract extension till 2027.
Halsall till 2027.
Out of contract this season:
Marsters (Salford next season)
Naiqama
Milner
Yates (Warrington next season?)
Cudjoe
Russell (Wakefield)
Don't think there are any others out of contract!
I don't have a problem with the likes of our captain going if we bring in a player that improves the squad i.e. Jack De Belin BUT why does Watson keep getting rid of quality centres i.e. Wardle, Leutele, and now Marsters (our best player this year.)

| Ricky left because Derek offered him loads of money, Jake left because Watson wouldnt play him at centre, he said he was a winger so Jake went to a club where he could play centre and he hasnt made a bad job of it has he. Marsters probably wants to go and play in a team that has a chance of challenging for the top six, while playing attractive and fast football at the same time.

| Looking like we will need 2 x centres, Halsall looks promising to me but is being played on the wing at the moment when I believe he is a centre. So we need at least one more - hoping that Bibby is not his solution! Do we have any backs coming out of the academy? Despite its good reputation backs seem to be a rarity.

| Yates to Warrington now confirmed - 2 year deal for him.
Wish him the best of luck, he's been superb in our colours & deserves to playing at a decent team who are knocking on the door for trophies, not a team who are struggling to make the top 8.

We'll be known at the Huddersfield "Plodders" and not Giants soon....
If Watson signs Milner up again, I have to severly wonder & ask if this club has any ambitions to challenge the top teams.

| Oli Russell on a 4yr deal from 2025 to Wakefield.
Won't loose any sleep over that as won't one or two on here (literally) who have commented on his ability in the past.

It shows how badly we've recruited when he's playing Russell now, this season has been horrendous on & off the pitch.
I wish him the best of luck at Wakefield but I have to wonder what their ambitions when they are giving a Championship standard player a 4 year deal.

| He's a tryer, but offers little in attack and is very predictable. Good luck to him at Wakefield.

| Obviously there are many ok with Russell leaving and in many ways based on what we’ve seen in the main I understand that, but there is another way of looking at it ……
Defensively he’s probably one of the toughest half backs around and we’ve seen him bring much bigger men down and take big hits then bounce back up.
I think he is probably our best goal kicker so that presents another issue.
He is quite clearly playing to Watsons process / game plan - we see Watson calling him over regularly to remind him of the plan - which means he plays a very basic game and looks to lack that electric place but on occasions he has shown he has a decent step and can make a break / half break and I believe he has a more creative game than we are seeing, When he makes that break / half break there should be someone with him in support and if that was the case he would automatically look better. I think we will see a much better version of him under Powell at Wakefield next year. I believe he is being restricted by our unexciting brand of rugby and this will be a good move for him.
Another point is - this is another youngish player leaving, will that bring in another 30 something replacement in?

I hope Russell goes and proves me wrong, I'd love him to.

| Well would you Adam & Eve it.....
Perhaps Watson is learning?
Milner's contract option will not be taken up & he will leave at the end of the season.
