You could buy a Town season pass for £250. That’s pretty amazing for 19 games of Premiership football. It’s about thirteen quid a game. It compares pretty well with £125 for 14 Superleague games.
There’s a hell of a lot that Fartown can learn from their stadium-mates on engaging with the Town’s public.

Last point in this little rant!
You might not like football, nor do I really, but Niobe can deny that it’s a very high profile business. And Rugby league isn’t.

| I'm a HTFC fan and I think they are doing magnificently. They have created an identity and a way of doing things, instilled pride in the shirt and gotten everyone pulling in the same direction. Managing expectations will be the biggest challenge for HTFC but in terms of maximising performances, playing smart, improving attendances and so on they have nailed it. Fartown could learn a lot from the way Wagner & Hoyle have gone about their business. Sean Jarvis too.
If they can keep hold of Kongolo that will be a massive bonus but I doubt it'll happen unfortunately.

| Quote: vastman "Serious question.
Football clubs have a habit once they are in the top flight to get a bit snooty about sharing.
If Town were to give you 10% of that 200 million ie 20 million to fix up then to bugger off back to Fartown (or similar), would you?
A nice redevelopment for say a 12k - 14k stadium. All yours.
I would, as I reckon it would be the making of you. You will never fill the JSS, few RL clubs would. But a 12k stadium that was generally 75% full most games - I'd bite their hands off.'"
Never happen.

Grow up. We all know a lot of people who support Town who are friends or family. My dad was a Town season ticket holder for forty years, he’d have been utterly thrilled by this season. And he certainly didn’t have a tiny mind.'"
I love both clubs so posts like that one from Jools does my head in. There needs to be more unity between the two clubs and a line drawn under everything that previously happened. The Giants would benefit massively from trying to ride the coat tails of HTFC. But alas... Grudges be grudges, and yes it works both ways.

Whether it is Town, Anita Lonsborough, Harold Wilson , Roy castle or wilf lunn.
Martians selling Smash and laughing about Huddersfield or books about Martians landing in Huddersfield.
It brings publicity and money to the town and people have heard of where I come from.
Apparently the publicity for Town has raised it,s profile and more students are now coming to the Poly. That brings money.
If you are struggling with jealousy go on the Wakey board like some of our other posters and argue with wakey fans about which of us is the crappiest team'"
Here. here Durham.
Don't forget Sir Patrick and it's the Uni now.

I'm not a soccer fan at all but i was rooting for town to stay up. People who compare the two clubs have really got no idea, Yes there is massive amounts of money involved in soccer, but for a team to just hold there own in the top league is a massive achievment, I'm the only League fan in my family, all the rest are Town mad, and good luck to them
Rugby league in comparison to Soccer is just nowhere, and anyone belittling Town for just surviving is just indulging in sour grapes, Have they forgotten we survived by a lick of paint, and just last season we lost in the CC to some part timers. The very best opposition in League pales in comparison to the opposition Town face in most of their games.

| Absolutely spot on Durham, Steve May and Danril....I'm one with a tiny mind who supports both and have season tickets for both. Those belittling Town should get down there and see a team that works its socks off, plays the game plan and is backed by a set of supporters that have earned praise this season from other teams support for the fantastic atmosphere generated. A team that is miles behind the rest of the league in budget...and they also tend to keep supporters informed unlike the Giants..Thorman apart..who seem to operate like a secret service. I hope the Giants keep improving on field and off as well and can get back to being a formidable side again but I for one will back both sides going forward

currently exiled abroad , thinking of batemans dark mild and fartown: |
|
| Working abroad as I have done on and off the the past 16 years I can attest to how Town being in the Premier league raises the profile of the whole town . I`m sure that not one of my students or fellow teachers had ever heard of Huddersfield before , now at least they have . Even if a few of them have asked me if it`s a district in London.

Have you been supporting them while they have been fighting for their place in the top flight.

Don't see that changing anytime soon, unless they pay people to go, might stick another thousand on, probably the next strategic masterstroke.
