| I thought some decisions were baffling to be honest, maybe accidental but Brough should of seen red for the crusher tackle. The Jake Webster yellow was just plain awful. However I do believe Minikin should of seen yellow for the tackle in the air.
Huddersfield by far are not the worst in SL and should start stringing some wins together. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Before blaming Thaler you need to try and work out why you didnt score in the second half even though you were camped in our 30 for most of it.... If Broughy didnt throw his dummy out you would have probably held on for the win too??
Thaler was poor but Huddersfields attack wasnt much better in our 20. in the other 80metres you looked half decent.'"
maybe to do with having only one recognised half back in the side and most of our strike players out injured
yes cas had some missing too.

Lawrence, Cudjoe, McGillvery, Symmonds, Gaskell and Ta'ai all missing for Giants, but only Cas absentees considered.
This season the Giants are not great, but they are not the worst team in Super League. With perhaps four of the above back soon there are encouraging signs. I think it unlikely we are relegated, there are at least a couple of more likely candidates.'"
i agree, get those back and continue what we have produced last two weeks and we will be fine, certainly win more than we lose with that effort at leeds and cas.
the next 3 games are pretty big, magic, wakey and st helens ...could do with all 3 wins! we have found abit of confidence now

| a couple of head high tackles werent given by thaler
one on ikahihifo and roberts, both infront of the sticks... two penalty chances at goal gone
and the tackle on macintosh when he was in the air was a bad one, lands on his head and its red card...we didnt eve get a sin binning
not long ago we had thaler at warrington too this season... gaskell went off after a high tackle and we got nothing but a penalty... then clarke got a ban for it! week before thaler sent off amor for saints for a high tackle...where the consistency???

Nephilim? Look in the only book worth reading.: |
|
| "Cas all the Way" has got it spot on. The Giants seem devoid of the ability to produce decent set plays when they get in the opponents 20.

Abit like the crushed tackle on Webster in the first half, should of been a straight red but not even a penalty given! It works both ways, Webster should never of been penalised, let alone sin binned! There were a fair few head high tackles but Huddersfield that were missed aswel.
How about stop blamin the ref and look at your own inept attack in that second half where you should of atleast scored 3 tries!

| Thaler was rubbish for both sides, we both suffered from bad decisions. Minikin maybe should have had 10 for the tackle in the air, but Jakes wasn't even a penalty. Brough maybe should have had a rest for the crusher. Neither side were onside most of the night, or square at the PTB. Numerous high shots from both teams went unnoticed. I've watched the game back this morning as you always see things different than when you are at the game, and my opinion is that the bad decisions were about 50/50 by the end of the game.

| Minikin didn't have any action taken against him because if you see the replay he knows he's mistimed it horribly and pulls away so the only contact is his arms and not a full on tackle. If he went full on he would have rightly been sent off.

| Losing team fans in blame the ref shocker
Thaler had nothing to do with it, in fact the game was pretty good to watch as a neutral as it was free flowing game with minimum penalties. The penalties that were given were rightly given.
Can't really win the Ref's. Thaler let the game flow last night and gets pinged on here for not giving penalties and other weeks gives all the penalties and then gets called whistle happy. I would rather it be like last night and allow the game to flow its a much better spectacle.
The only real dubious decision was the webster sin binning, which he got wrong. You could argue brough was a red card but at that stage of the game red/yellow didnt really matter.

We had our hooker and 4th choice half back playing in the halves for most of the game. Still found a way to win and score 2 tries in the second half. Its what teams have to do with injuries. Find a way to win.

Agreed, Webster decision was a very poor one and Brough's was deserved.
Regarding your previous points, a penalty is a penalty, the ref isn't there to minimise them, he's there to uphold the laws of the game. And that is why they 'can't win' because as you have stated they have no consistency from one week to the next.
I think Thaler has grown to be possibly the best ref over the last couple of seasons, but he was poor last night, and unfortunately back to his centre of attention days when proudly dishing the yellow cards with maximum theatre. I think there were poor decisions against both teams, and unfortunately pretty key ones. He didn't lose us the game, but both sides are arguing over who was worse done to, not whether he was good or bad, which says enough about his overall performance really.

| Cas 1st try (Monaghan) came from Chase knock on and forward pass which all crowd bar Thaler saw, winning margin was less than 6 points hence Thaler did lose us the game I'm afraid. Cas sit proudly at top where as it should be Hull and Giants still 3 points behind couple of teams where as should have been 1 point, pity how teams are being punished by crap decisions with nothing ever getting done about it. Do these refs gamble?

| As an outsider Huddersfield could've and should've won. Whatever went before it the rush of blood to Danny Brough's head did ultimately cost you the win. I actually really rate him as a half back and believe his temperament has prevented him being even better.
