Quote: Birkbygiant "Top clubs like Melbourne Storm can't keep one of the best wingers in the NRL (Koroibete) because they can't compete financially to Rugby Union.
Like I said there is more money in the game over in Oz, there are more teams, more fans, more media and public interest, however it is struggling against AFL and RU.'"
So if the game is struggling with 1 million for five years, just what sort of money is Union getting If they can just pick up the best League players because the League clubs can't compete . They must have some huge benefactors we don't know about.
In 2015 they announced a massive increase in their deal to £285 million, and conceded it was merge pickings compared to the NRL, So where are all the extra hundreds of millions coming from, and you would think that if they are so rich they would dominate union in much the same way League does.
