think you have had your say on clough, we get it.
we have a new conditioning coach thats come in recently, its was a massive concern last season, hopefully he gets them 100% fit, if all are 100% fit id only expect maybe gaskell to get in the starting 17. the bradford 3 will help on the squad front which we didnt have last year.

| Clough is a downgrade on Crabtree. He was never someone in his Saints days to fear, If we do not sign another prop we are weaker in this position next year. Smith coming back will assist but Johnson gone too. Anderson really is the gift that keeps on giving.

| Were signings like this done by Anderson ? Or someone else at the Giants?

| lets get it right clough is not a direct replacement for crabtree
this deal was done along time ago when crabtree was expected to still be playing for us
its more to do with squad depth which we lack.
and above poster... it was a signing when anderson was coach along with other 2 yet to come..

| Not many players could actually be a replacement of Crabtree

But we do need a direct replacement for him is my point. If Clough turns out to be replacement for Johnson because we get someone decent to fill Eorls sizeable boots then fair play. If not prop department has suffered and we cannot afford that after last year

| Have to admit, the bit in the press release where he says he's going to bring a great work ethic makes me chuckle. Have to wonder where that work ethic was last year when he was sat on his refusing to play cos he was worried he'd end up injured and it his Giants deal would fall through. Good luck to him, got his pay check and just hope he ends up crocked again!!!
Same goes for Gaskell. Big fish in a little pond in championship. Do any of you remember him ripping SL up when he was in SL last time around... Nope, he did feck all. Yes he had one good year in championship but I'd say he was not worth the money keeping him.
The one I'm really gutted about is Fergy. A real workhorse, puts his heart on his sleeve and throughly good bloke. If you don't end up flogging him to Wakey he'll be a credit to your team. He's much better than the player that left you (nothing to do with us, just his maturity I guess) and would go well as impact player off the bench.

How bitter do you sound.
I do hope you are in the know about Clough- because otherwise you have written a potentially libellous statement. Claiming he refused to play is defamation if untrue.
Wishing a player injured- that's low even for a Bulls fan.
Gaskell? Gaskell was a real shining light when at saints-he did indeed "rip it up" and helped saints to a grand final! He was I feel unlucky in that the had a number of young promising half backs such as wheeler and lomax coming through at a similar time to himself. He stood out in a poor Salford side and an even poorer Bulls side.
Ferguson I'm not bothered about as we have a wealth of players in he back row.

To be honest out of the three I would have been much happier to offload clough before Ferguson. Gaskell I am indifferent on but could see benefit now Ellis gone. Will be annoyed if Ferguson is the one we offloaded out of the 3. I am getting prepared to be annoyed!

| Clough is now a Giant and so deserves the same level of support as any in the squad. I am not discouraged about those that have been moved on nor by the signings of the Bradford 3 should they all come. Biggest issue at start of last season was the high number of injuries and not enough cover with us from experienced SL players - that seems to be a focus to remedy now. Still hoping for at least one more signing (Mamo?). Got to remember those pulled in mid season last year also will benefit from a full pre season, and better conditioning. Also Smith will be like a new signing. Giants traditionally do not announce signings until 100% confirmed so plenty of time yet for good news on new player front to be confirmed. COYG.

Haha... How do you Make that out? Bitter at the level of commitment shown by this individual and his invisible halfback friend? Yes absolutely but not for losing him.
And low for a Bulls fan.... Please enlighten me? How low are Bulls fans suppose to be? Please do explain.
Ironically you signed three players from us, one of which I've actually chosen to say how big a miss he will be for us and how lucky you are to have him. If I was genuinely bitter I'd be slagging all three off.
As it is, the one that will actually improve your squad work ethic is the one you're not bothered about. Just wish we could have him back seeing as you're club done seem that bothered.

| Yeah Ferguson is a good player. He's superleague level. The other two definitely aren't.
Jools will disagree but they could sign Karl Pryce and he'd still claim they'd signed a world beater.
Take the claret and gold tinted specs off. A club of your stature should be aiming a little bit higher when signing players.

If they were going to be first choice I'd agree with you -however, Gaskell won't likely be playing in front of brierley- certainly not before brough. Clough won't be in before Huby, Rapira and ikahihifo and will have to fight for fourth prop spot with smith and the now established young Mason, with Dickinson and Matty English knocking on the door. Ferguson won't be playing in front of taai, symonds or Lawrence. Our issue last year was squad numbers. These three aren't going to be our first choice players like they were for Bulls. They were signed as squad players- as injury backup.
