| But Jumbuck I didnt compare Grix with anyone, I simply wondered why his two try saving tackles werent mentioned after he was left badly exposed by the twelve players in front of him who, had failed so badly in the tackling dept,.

I suppose it's because he is supposed to make try saving tackles " when required " and people expect him to do so. Probably unfair a lot of the time. It's the blunders he makes on a regular basis that catch the eye though, Eden was the same , he got slated and ridiculed for his errors, but offsetting that he was exciting to watch on attack, whereas Half of Grix's errors come on attack. He is playing at the wrong level, and he is far from the only one.

| Quote: AntonyGiant "I'm not even going to read this thread further than the first post. Wether it was a defying moment or not he wasn't by far the worst man on the field. The thread is a joke and a clear hit on the Giants official scapegoat.
Why not start a thread on Huddersfield hero Eorl Crabtree who seems to be running in slow motion into tackles. He seems to have lost all determination on the field... Makes more of an effort in commentary and for the BBC.
Danny Brough who got sin binned, did a few good runs but failed to lead by example and looked like he hadn't slept for a week. Lacked creativeness completely.
We was a tired, unmotivated shambles and Wakefield had the passion of the underdog. The motivation of proving everyone wrong. It's almost like we think we've won something important and have the God given right to automatically play well and challenge for things.
We need to learn to work hard again as a team.'"
Who did play anywhere near well last night?? I honestly can't name anyone. How dare you question Saint Eorl?! Agree 110%, he has been atrocious all year, barely manages 10 minute stints and looks like throwing his guts up at every break in play. Fitness has totally left him(and to be fair, looks like a similar case with half the side). If we continue with recent talk of which SL side would which player get in, the answer in Mr Crabtree's case is very, very few....if any at all.

Nobody played particularly well.
Connor gave it a good shot. A lot of heart and determination from a young lad who is leaving.
Jerry, Lawrence and Leroy all looked shot but still gave it a go.
Jerry in particular who hasn't had a break and had a short preseason playing for England.
He's shown up a lot of our forwards this year.

| Ta'ai knocks on twice. Eorl knocks on. Brough gets himself sin binned. We're 12-0 down. All after barely 15mins. Clearly Grix had the match defining moment!
No credit to Wakefield being better than us throughout 80mins. Grix throwing an interception was the defining moment!
How blind I was!

They say he has "utility" value in that he can play in many positions....what i have witnessed is that he can play absolutely garbage in several positions. One of the worst players i have seen wear a Wakey shirt and there have been many to choose from.'"
Totally disagree with you and I 'm not alone. Grix is a good player but not great because he does have brain farts. But as a utility back/HB he's great value - I'd have him back in a heart beat.

Well he's up for grabs as far as I know, although I have heard Fax mentioned. He is no worse than a few of our other players, but how much you have seen of him to rate him so highly I don't know. His good sides are his backing up, and he is as good under the high ball as anyone else in our side, also he is reputedly the brains behind the marshalling of our defence.
His ball returning is arguably the worst you are ever likely to see, and although he does from time to time pull off very good 1 on 1 tackles, more often than not he is left face down on the ground demonstrating his frustration as the try is being scored.
When he joins the line The move usually ends in disappointment, when he was tried at half a few years ago, he was the most tackled with the ball halfback you are ever likely to see, which I assume is why he didn't last there.
With a good coach I can see him having another couple of years in him as a squad player in an average side, When he is the first name down on the team sheet every week you tend to view things differently.
He does get more than his share of blame for things going wrong, but the bottom line is, he is not good enough, We have others in that category as well that I would be happy to see depart with him, Preferably to Wakey, we need to restore the natural order of things,
Well done by the way, It would be nice to see Trin win the C Cup again.

Sad a state of affairs that we have to rely on a Wakey fan to speak some sense on this board.
GRIX was no batter or worse than any other players on the pitch.
Defensively he was very good which is the usual complaint against him.
But like the Brexiters looking to use immigrants as a scapegoat our fans always seem to look at Grix
