Connor

Leroy
Wardle
Tansey
Brough
Brierley
Crabtree
Hinchcliffe
Huby
Taai
Patrick
Lawrence
I think we put brierley at full back again were stupid, Connors still young give him time in one position and he'll adapt to it and start performing. Wardle is his best when he's at centre so keep him there with tansey on the outside. I think if brierley has a couple of games at half back we'll start to see what he can do
Us by 8'"
not another change at full back, wing and half back please!!! we need the opposite.

| We are ravaged by injuries. On Sunday we are likely to be missing:
Luke Dorn
Denny Solomona
Michael Shenton
Ben Roberts
Junior Moors
Oliver Holmes
Lee Jewitt
Matt Cook
Gadwin Springer
Frankie Mariano.
All apart from Springer and Mariano would probably be in our first-choice 17.
If you can't beat us with this injury list, you have a problem.

Grix is injured and OOC -I can't see him 0playing another game for us. Why is he "obviously his best when he's half back" I thought he was better for us against Salford than he was against Wakey.
I honestly don't think he has the skill set to make a proper SL halfback, he doesnt organise and can't kick. Look at what happened when he came up against full time players in the middle every week in the middle 8s. I think he does have the skill set to be a good attacking FB- IF it's proven he can organise the defence. The juries out so far but play him in the position he was brought to play- as grixs replacement. And please god stop moving players around!!!!!'"
are you drunk? He's played at Leigh in the halves for however many years changing him to full back is gonna do no good at all, he isn't full back he's a half back who "can play full back" he has the skill talent and potential to be up there with the best halves in SL but were shoving him at full back where his talents going to be wasted

| His strengths are running through gaps, pace, collecting offloads etc.....exactly what we need at Full back i'd say.
Ask the Leigh fans he was never an organiser at Leigh, he didn't take the line on - that was Ridyard or Beswick most of the time. Ryan scored a lot of his tries by backing up breaks and using his pace...Cannot wait to see him do that for us !

We have a organizer , are you saying he can't play off Brough just as well as Ridyard or Beswick, which is where he scored all his tries from ( as you say ) But you see him as a natural fullback.

| Didn't say natural full back, i meant i can see why we'd want to play him there, we've Wood and Ellis to play off Broughy.

Nope- not been drunk since drowning my sorrows after Wakey.
Danny kirmond played at Featherstone on the wing for 3 years and scored more than a try every two games. He probably wouldn't have made it in SL in quite the same way doing the same against full time professionals- which is why he was successfully switched.
I've not seen much of brierley- but what I have seen suggests he wouldn't be as effective at half back in SL up against fitter professionals every week. He was anonymous against Wakey. (Also See middle 8s performances). Plenty of Leigh fans agree a switch to FB would be a good one for him, as do our coaching staff- that consists of two ex half backs. Good enough for me.

Sorry jools but I disagree, his talent is at half back and putting him at full back would be wasting what could be a very dangerous partnership in Brough and brierley

All what you say about Kirmond is true of many a player, and could be the same with Brierley, or Ellis for that matter. I could live with him at fullback, although it's quite amusing how quickly people are writing Grix off, having been saying how much we miss him and his organization.
I haven't seen all that much of Brierley either , just on TV, but funnily enough he looked the best against SL opposition.
Did we have a player at Wakey who wasn't anonymous.

| We have missed Grix more than the knockers may wish to admit, we would be much more confident playing in front of his defensive organising ability. We had the best defence in superleague when he was playing!

| No word on Ellis though- but initially they said up to 10 weeks which would make it just before magic. Wonder if that's still the case?

He also got a lot from interceptions - and that's not easy from full back! Mind you, the opposition also scored a lot from him rushing out of the defensive line, and missing the interception!
That said, I still think he is best suited to full back, eventually. Meanwhile, it looks like you need your most reliable players in their 'comfortable' positions, and Grix has always been a sound player.
