| Some real contrasts!
Larne Patrick, if used (ie trained and played to his strengths) is one of the best players in SL and would tear it up in the NRL with proper coaching & conditioning. The man runs balls and all. He is as big as a house and fast as a jet plane. He is an x-factor player not being used as he should.
IMO.

| Good thread, gets you thinking.....
Most gutted if they left;
Brough - on his day, the best half in super league.
Connor - the future. Looks class.
Crabtree - still our best prop.
Ferres - quality.
McGilvary - love watching him play. Mini Prop on a wing.
Least gutted if they left;
Robinson - one of my favourite players. But I think we've seen the best of Luke. Certainly at 7.
Grix - I think we have better options at full back.
Kaufusi - I like him, but I don't think we get enough out of him consistently.
Fairbanks - again, I like him, but he's down the pecking order.
Johnson - still not completely convinced, but admittedly still a baby for his position.

| Can`t understand how many would release Robbo. He is always full of energy, and he is very often first man in on the tackle whatever size they are. He puts in some really good passes for tries. Always puts 100% effort in.
If the forwards were doing more Brough and Robbo would excell. What Anderson needs to concentrate on in the forwards is leg drive in the tackle, at the present we are getting pushed back or submitting on contact.

| 5 to keep
brough
wardle
mulally
murph
ferres
5 to go
kafusi (too few mins and with Huby coming)
grix, (murph and conner pref fb)
fairbank, (Bruno, ferres, taai, Patrick, bailey are all ahead)
Johnson (with out and out props in eorl, koppy, huby, mull do we think he has the same natural build? more likely to be a beefed up 2nd row)
wood (think connor should get in the halves with brough, robbo to go into hooker with lunt which leaves wood out)

Brough
Jerry
Murphy
Larne
Ta'ai
GO
Koppy (I know a lot of people won't agree but I have failed to see anything amazing from him iin his two years with us)
Robbo (love the guy and he tries his knockers off but he just isn't good enough anymore)
Lunt (he is a top top class player but I just don't think is heart is at the Giants and it is effecting his performance, very angry to see him laughing at the end of the Catalan game)
Kafusi (don't think he is worth carrying just to wait for the 5 mins a game where he decides to tackle harder)
Grix (I don't think we will ever be a top side with his at FB)
Would also like to say Broughton as well so if it was 6 that would be it

| I won't say who I'd see go because I'm 100% committed to support any player who wears a Giants shirt.
My top 5 players who I rate to make the biggest difference to our chances of becoming champions
Or who I enjoy watching the most are
Brough
Larne
Ferres
Wardle
Cudjoe

Somewhere in the dust of time rest the bones of the Galilean
He who was spat upon. He whose face was marred beyond all human likeness
Somewhere buried among the lies of the past rests the tomb of Yeshua
Of he who was made God in a world without Hope.
And when this son of Joseph is found. What then will the Church of Rome say?
Prepare yourself for the day is coming. And men will say
"Blessed are the wasted lives who perished in the flames of the holy war": |

He's lost his pace, can't read the game, constantly gives hospital passes and runs around like a headless chicken.
True he gives 100% but his 100% isn't good enough. The club should've let him go 2 years ago. The fact they didn't is part of the problem we have. Sentimentality overruling sense. Literally the only reason to keep him is "he tries hard" and "He's a decent bloke". Neither of those sentiments has a place in professional sport.

| One of the few things NB got right was moving robbo to 9. A fresh robbo running from DH kills the opposition. Perhaps with Ellis coming the plan is to move robbo back there. Whether his body could take the midfield battering is another issue!

But if he was spelling for a first choice hooker and playing 20 to 25 minutes it has to be better than playing 80 and been targeted all game.
Still think he can do a job for us but it is getting to the stage when we are starting to need some younger legs.
Broughy is getting no younger and he needs someone to do the running whilst he takes over the organising.
He needs to start watching how Briers played for the last three seasons.
That is why i would also look for a new Captain.

| I don't think he even has the pace anymore. When was the last time he genuinely made a break? How many times does he set off into a gap and 4 years ago he would have shot through the line and now he just gets caught?
It's a shame because he has been a very good player for us in the past but think back to the CCup semi against Saints when he split them open. I genuinely can't remember an instant in the last two seasons when he has made a break like that.
