I don't accept that at all. Here in Hull we have two pro SL sides plus a premiership football team averaging nearly 45,000 fans together. Rovers averaged less than 3000 before superleague. Imagine if we had a season like Castleford had this year. There would be two rugby teams in hull averaging over ten thousand. Your team, stadium and your owners input deserve so much more support from the Huddersfield area.

nope, nothing apart from a Premier League football club
Being fair to Hudds, there are no away fans, and you are the best performing Yorkshire team. The problem is, you lost an entire generation of fans to Huddersfield Town during your lean years, and you don't just pick those supporters back up again.

When do Leeds play again this season? If, and it's a big if we win or reach the GF what does that make us? Still little old Huddersfield living in the shadows of that mighty city where Leeds Rhinos come from?

| Around the area you've got Huddersfield Town, Halifax, Bradfird and Leeds to go along with the teams over the Pennines like Man Utd and City etc to go with all of the local RL teams. The crowds thing has done its death on here, yes we get low crowds but from where we've come from the crowds are massive and at the moment have platoed out. Win something and they'll start to build. I know plenty of people from the surrounding areas who go to Leeds, Bradford and Halifax week in week out and would've been fartowners if we had a team that was any good a good few years ago before Davy got involved.

You could look at it another way. Yes, you have plenty around you, but then you've a bigger catchment area than say, Hull. The giants have had a good enough team now for these last few years that your crowds should be bigger. I know it's been done to death, but when games like tonight are being aired live, it's hard not to comment.

I now live in Dunblane, Scotland so it's a near 600 mile round trip to go there. I'd much rather save my money in the hope of a Grand Final appearance. Went last week to Wigan though and fitted in the Town game too along with all the normal family catching up.

I went to Wigan last week and there were plenty of giants fans there but not many Wigan fans like they usually get. Huddersfield are easy targets for the people who want to knock the crowds. We need to win something of note to get them in. Maybe the down fall of Bradford and an upturn in our fortunes may change that.

No. But you're missing the point. You can't class yourselves as the top club in Yorkshire when you have nothing to show for it. All you've done is finish above Leeds a couple of times and win 1 League Leaders Shield. You are unbelievably deluded if you genuinely think you're the top club in Yorkshire.

It's not really that you won nothing, you were beyond terrible. The basic and most important reason you are in this league at all is because someone gave you access to a stadium, and the game wanted the stadium. Didn't work at first, under promotion and relegation you were up and down every other year. With licensing there was time to plan, and you're the biggest beneficiaries of it by far.
Now the stadium's broke and it looks like kids playing a pre-match game five hours before the real kick off.

Maybe, but if you're looking for ways to blame the success of others for your clubs abject failings in getting any interest then you're looking for ways to divert attention from the issue. The success of others is not the reason you have failed. There is not a finite amount of local interest who just keep moving about according to the whim of the day. Some do, and often were told that people from Halifax or Huddersfield are seen with Bradford and Leeds stickers in their cars. Because people don't move at all, and so we have all the evidence we need there. It's definitely why Huddersfield get 5k instead of 12 or 13.
Compare Huddersfield's crowds like for like with Bradford's for 2013, your banner year. You finished top of the league that year. You have won something. And in all but the barest of cases, the ones that relied on big clubs that were playing rivals (but far ahead in every other respect) who had fans willing to turn out to see a decent game, mid-crisis Bradford were getting bigger crowds to a hole in the ground.

Ok mate, I must be deluded. Looking at the present we're still in the play offs and finished 3rd in the league. Granted Leeds win their first challenge Cup for quite a few years, finished out of the top 4 and are out of the play offs. Yes you are a much greater club than us and we live in your shadows. How does the rest of West Yorkshire even dare compete with the mighty Leeds.

I read the first part of your comment and didn't carry on due to all the flaws and incorrect comments you've said. Get your facts right before spouting on here.

I don't support, or even particularly like Leeds.
Unlucky on going out, top club.

I do not deny you won promotion. The basic and most important reason a low value Huddersfield Giants, bouncing up and won like a ping pong ball, add value to this league under licensing is through its stadium. Licensing allowed Huddersfield to become what they are, but when that thing was set in stone? You were mate.
Please do continue to blame the success of others for your failings though. Spout away with those particular facts. I hope Davey believes it too, there lies comedy.

| I don't know how you managed to lose that game. Your pack smashed them tonight, just a few wrong final decisions. Brough not kicking the penalty and running it in first half came back to haunt you.
