| As a warrington fan, I just don't get this idea that grix is a good player. Whenever I have seen him play, that be on tele or against wire, he just seems to be quite bad. He was atrocious tonight, as were most of the team in his defence, but it's not the first time i have noticed his bad defence. A top 4/5 team like yourselves I would expect higher standards to be honest.

| I think your being generous, I thought we were hanging on from the start and our disallowed try only happened after a couple of penalties got us up there.
Completely agree about muallely, every time he gets a go I think he plays pretty well.
I expect us to play well next week... Provided they have another good week at training and our star man is back. Like it or not he's the difference

| Got a letter re renewal of my season ticket asking all the faithful to try and get nearer and nearer the 10000 mark for saeason tickets
Sorry to say that the "faithful 6000" will TRY but with the slipped in performances like Salford (H) 2nd half at Wakey(away) and tonight -- we need bribery to make newbies come and stay !
Could management get that message home
Consistency IS the key --and we lack it big time
The newbies WILL get used to it quickly - its been a long learning curve for the rest of us!!
A total insult to the traveliing fans !
If we`d played like last week and lost -fair do`s
But no !
Eorl said on TV he "couldn`t wait"!!
Should have mentioned it to his teammates!

| OH DEAR!!!
Just got back and watched the post match interviews on Sky - PA said we were "emotional pumpkins" and lost our focus on processes etc... Well I did not see any emotion from the Giants tonight - agree with PA though with his other comment that it was all very embarrassing . Someone else said that it was like watching Fartown 6/7 years ago - very true.
I just don't get how we can let ourselves down so badly like that - what is it about play-off games that seems to turn us in to a poor team overnight - when we can more than hold our own against any side during the regular league games home and away? We just do not appear to have the heart, depth of character, aggression, mongrel or whatever to raise our game when we need to in order to match what the likes of Wigan, Warrington, and yes Leeds do when it really matters.
Will be there again on Thurs/Fri praying for a miracle in that we can bounce back and still make the GF - but to be honest we really do not deserve it after that game tonight - very embarrassed and disappointed right now - but hey all will be forgotten if we can use this to motivate a proper response and create the right attitude in our next match(es).
I probably do still have some blind faith that we can do a hell of a lot better - but watching Fartown sometimes is painful - tonight was even worse than the loss at Hunslet - and that was truly pants.

| I am probably going to get some right stick now but I'm going to say it anyway.... Lunt has been crap for the majority of the season and today was seriously stifling our attack.
He ran from dummy half ONCE that I recall, the rest of the time he (eventually) took the ball from the ptb and passed it to someone... By which time Wigan had got within a metre of that someone. The thing he does well are his "specials" scoring from DH- but if we aren't ever in a position a metre from the oppositions half it's a bit of a waste! Passing the ball from the floor isn't hard to do- my 10 yr old manages it- is he crocked or looking for out or just not arised I don't know- but he needs to sort it out cause it's giving us nothing to work with!

| id back you up in that comment jools, last year he was fantastic , his running/passing game was 1 of the reasons we finished top . this year he seems uninterested , heads somewhere else , he looks unfit(kafuasi as well), overweight and seems to forgot how to tackle

Jools Don't you know you're only allowed to point the finger at Scott Grix for poor performance
Seriously, though, I agree. I said recently he hasn't looked match fit since he returned and it was really exposed last night (mind you neither Grix or Kaufausi looked fit last night to name just two others). I think he was also playing to poor tactics last night - pass, pass, prop gets it with 3 Wigan players already in his face.
Last night exposed the bigger problems we've all been aware of all season and it's been clear for longer than that that as soon as teams play at a high tempo against us, we really struggle. While the score wouldn't have been embarassing I refuse to believe Danny's presence would have made much difference last night, either.

| well,to say we rolled over and let them tickle our bellies is an understatement, we rolled over and let them stamp our guts out.
a truly, woeful, embarrassing, gutless, spineless performance and one that i am truly embarrassed about, not often i say that!
they bullied us all over the field, the took the mick out of ous all over the field and we held our hands up like a wimpy schoolkid and said "i don't wanna fight you",
we can question PA's selections but ultimately the 17 people wearing our shirts last night take all the blame, not one of them stood up to wigan, not one of them rolled their sleeves up and thought "i'm gonna give it a go", none of them, they gave up,surrendered as meekly as the french did in 1940!
sorry to say boys but you disgraced the people who did wear the claret and gold with pride last night!

| we made 593 metres...593!
wigan made 1,551, 3 times more than we did!
that is a truly abysmal stat, the only thing more astonishing is that apparently we "only" had 30 missed tackles, i could have sworn it was a lot more? only crabtree and lawrence failed to complete a full 17 players who missed tackles, lunt and grix made 11 of those between them.
i also agree with jools, that lunt has been a shadow of former self the last few games, his distribution is poor, his running game non existant ( apart from the break for the try) and his tackling is woeful at the moment..

| Phew, glad someone else could see it! The problem is without brough running the show we needed a good hooking show to give us something to work with, Connor was clearly very nervous- can't fault the lad 19 yrs old and biggest game of his career so far with a lot of expectation following last week. Connor needed help and he didn't get it. It could be that 80 mins last week took it out of lunt - but he's not been right since he came back from injury and a shadow of last year.

| I'm not saying I would agree with this at all but based on what we have previously seen with selections this year, I can see Connor being dropped by Anderson for the Elimination game, assuming Brough is back. I think he'll go with Grix / Murphy at full back and then dependant on that Broughton / Murphy on the wing.
Interesting that Anderson said he'll tell the players the team on Sunday. I hope Mullally and Bailey come back in.

| we wont win a thing until we sort out a decent full back, not had one since brett hodgson.
grix's organising of the defence lastnight was great...his biggest asset to us. good job he got a 2 yr contract with us because no other super league club would give him one, would end up playing for halifax in the championship.
just have a look at the other top teams full backs and you will see where we are lacking to challenge them when it comes to the crunch.
Lunt / connor / wardle also missed tackles, battered lastnight... big response needed next week.

| There is no way Scott Grix should have played last night, he was clearly miles away from being fit enough to play. Not a comment on his ability but poor from the staff (not sure whether that was physio/Coach or combination).
Our starting props Kaufusi and Crabtree ran the ball up in a manner that would have Zak Hardaker questioning their sexuality.
Robbo was a disaster in defence letting Farrell easily run round him and then after that charging up and missing his man.
Lunt doesn't seem to do average he is either fantastic or poop. He was not fantastic last night.
All our players are capable of so much more, I think our selection and tactics were wrong but the biggest problem last night was that all teamwork fell apart. Was that down to lack of heart, lack of belief or frustration? I do not know, but it was not in any way acceptable, we must do better, we must win next week Ken davy deserves that.
