| On a different topic, my daughter was not allowed to take in an opened bottle of water. If it had been unopened she could have. She was even allowed to empty the bottle and refill it inside. The security officer said that this was due to the government upgrading the terrorist threat to include all sports stadia. [The liquid could have been an explosive – even though she drank some to show it wasn’t!]
She wasn't the only one caught by this ruling.
I'm making further enquiries.

I agree it was like Child was trying to level things out the one where Lawrence got pinged was no different to what Wakey were doing all game they made a lot of their yards at this time rarely through play and the penalties put them on the front foot but we were comfortable and did what Leeds and Wigan couldn't !!

Apparently our club have not heard about this so I'm lodging a complaint with Wakefield.

A young girl with one of our mates (maybe 8 i can't remember) was refused entry by the 'bouncers with jackets on' for having a can of coke....they made her stand with her back to the turnstile wall and drink it before they let her in, poor lass couldn't understand what she did wrong, reading the wakey board a few weeks back it seemed some of their own fans had the same issue and the club responded by saying something along the lines of they hadn't instructed the 'stewards' to do this !!.

TBF the rule itself is quite sensible - it's surprising to me that a sports stadium doesn't seem to have been targeted by terrorists yet. What isn't sensible is that she still had to empty the bottle even after showing it was harmless by drinking some of the contents! A bit of common sense would have been appropriate there.
Reminds me of one time when my almost empty 110ml tube of toothpaste was confiscated at an airport security check - an almost full 100ml tube would have been OK!

Interesting as I had a bag with a previously opened bottle of water inside along with a further couple of bottles of pop. I also just finished a can of lager so would've been prime for a bag search but I wasn't even approached so had i not got rid of two cans i couldve easily have taken cans in! Not heard of checking bottles due to heightened security threat only if suspect of hidden alcohol! Will probably know more once I've completed some training I'm about to embark on. But to say not all bags are being searched they're ain't doing it thoroughly despite the threat!!

I have approached them about this and was told that people were taking their own alcohol in - implying that they weren't buying the *** stuff served in the ground!
Bag searching happens at many grounds now. This wasn't my complaint. It was the fact that people weren't being allowed in with their own, non-alcoholic drinks on a very hot day.

| Yeah but you can't stop one drink over another, it's not about beer - but simply not buying anything from the vendors in the ground
Maybe if they weren't criminally overpriced, shockingly poor quality and ineptly staffed they might have better custom

This has been an issue all season, many Wakey fans have complained and nowts happened. Even one of the clubs most loyal supporters has called it a day because of the attitude and the stewards involved and the attitude of the club. I'd like to apologise because it is quite frankly pathetic.

Agreed this was a potential al Qaeda target.
Imagine the scenes as people are killed or injured in their tens and the possible financial damage to a state of the art facility like belle Vue.
You can never be too careful. Carter is planning further squad cuts next year to pay for a bunker under the club offices similar to the one Whitehall that they built during the Cold War.
The money saved on Richie Mathers for example could pay for a years supply of tins of pek.
Tim smith won't be back next year as that's paying for a water filtration system.

In all seriousness though Wakefield need to sort this situation as it's totally stupid.
Especially in light of the ongoing fans boycott over it

In all seriousness though wouldn't you be better of addressing the problems of your own club instead of trying to cause mischief elsewhere
