| From what Brough & McNamara have said in the press they aren't communicating. That is down to McNamara, pure and simple. He isn't managing the squad at all. Brough is a stereotypical half back in terms of temperament and you need to manage them accordingly. McNamara has failed.
He only got the job in the first place because no one else wanted it IMO.

| dont think he would play sinfield and brough in the same team which i think is the problem, both like to control games with kicks and be marshalls but dont think it would work and mcnamara wont drop captain sinfield.
thats the main thing i reckon...

And yet, McNamara doesn't seem to have a problem with any other half backs, including Ranghi Chase. Which would indicate Brough has a problem, and it is he who has failed.

yet Nathan Brown and Paul Anderson have no problems with brough and i have to say i would rate both of them as a better coach than Mc B.

| If McNamara isn't communicating with Brough, which is blatantly the case, then it's no wonder Brough has a problem!
And seeing as it is the coaches job to do so, it is he who has failed. I would bet my last quid he's been on the blower whispering sweet nothings to our Antipodean king hitter so he's probably quite suited. No doubt if the Kiwis could find a way round the rules and offer him a spot in their team he'd be off like a shot to them if Marshall broke a leg or something. Just my opinion of course and we'll never know for sure but Chase is as English/British as a Jerry can.

| Its the managers job to manage the team, and people around him to get the best performance from the team.
Managers make the most out of the available resources, clearly the manager has failed in this critical management skill!

| The coach has a responsibility to keep everyone informed. This is like line management. If you're not communicating to your team then you're not doing your job. Simple as that.

| ferres seems to be the token "player picked on form player to appease people"
lunt and Houghton best 2 hookers in the game at the moment but picked an injured player and a half back for hookers!

| I now believe we need a new national coach, lunt, houghton, brough have been mentioned..these players could help us beat the aussies...to be biiased...larne patrick, another who could do some damage..myy tip is Nathan Brown for the next england coach..yes he's an aussie but he believes in born nationalities not grandads best mates ...he is a good coach and if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck it's not a cow

| At the National level with the best players available to pick from you need to be a great man manager and a great motivator. McNamara is neither. Tony Smith did the best job at National level in recent times IMO. We beat the Kiwis 44-0 and won a series 3-0 with him in charge. He instills belief in his teams bordering on arrogance and he man-manages his players so they all fulfill their potential, want to play and don't throw tanties when they don't.
McNamara has already failed in some of these areas before a ball has been kicked this season.

| The fact MacNamara lost a game to the Exiles last season tells you all you need to know about his team selection and coaching

| I hope not
Ferres is a superb second row. England has plenty of centres (ok so the squad has one) but he is best played in the back row
